On June 16, Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Decision to merge Lai Chau Newspaper and Lai Chau Provincial Radio and Television Station, along with decisions on personnel work.
At the conference, the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee announced the decision to merge two press agencies into Lai Chau Newspaper under the Provincial Party Committee, officially coming into operation from June 20, 2025.
After the merger, the Lai Chau Newspaper Editorial Board includes the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editors-in-Chief and 8 specialized departments. The new agency also builds a roadmap to dissolve the Printing Factory according to regulations.
The Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee also announced Decision No. 1872-QD/TU dated June 9, 2025 of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee on personnel work.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Manh, Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper, was appointed to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper after the merger, for a term of 5 years from September 1, 2021; at the same time, he was assigned the position of Editor-in-Chief from June 20, 2025 until the position of Editor-in-Chief is completed.
Along with that, 6 cadres were mobilized and appointed to hold the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper after the merger, for a term of 5 years.
At the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee Vu Manh Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated the important contributions of Lai Chau Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station in recent times; at the same time, congratulated the officials who were trusted and appointed to join the leadership team of the press agency after the merger.
Mr. Vu Manh Ha emphasized that the merger of the two agencies is a necessary step, in line with the policy of streamlining the organization, operating effectively and efficiently, meeting the requirements in the new context, and suggested that the new press agency continue to improve the quality of journalism according to the motto "4S": early information, in-depth expertise, sharp theory, and technology savvy.
Believing in the spirit of solidarity, unity and responsibility of the staff and workers, Mr. Vu Manh Ha hopes that Lai Chau Newspaper will overcome initial difficulties, soon stabilize the organization and perform well the assigned political tasks.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Viet Manh, Acting Editor-in-Chief of Lai Chau Newspaper, affirmed that the merger is an inevitable trend, meeting the practical requirements and policies of the Central and the province. This is also an important turning point in the development journey of Lai Chau Newspaper.
In the coming time, the press agency will gradually improve its organizational structure, build an effective operating mechanism, implement the "converged newsroom" model, integrate multi-platform content production, and promote its role as the province's key press agency, the voice of the Party Committee, government and people of Lai Chau.
On the same day, Son La Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce decisions on organization and personnel work.
According to Decision No. 1426-QD/TU dated June 3, 2025 of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, Son La Newspaper was merged and reorganized with the Provincial Radio and Television Station into Son La Newspaper under the Provincial Party Committee.
The conference also announced the decisions of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the mobilization, assignment and appointment of cadres.
Mr. La Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Son La Newspaper, was transferred, assigned, and appointed to the position of Editor-in-Chief after the merger and reorganization; Mr. Nguyen Truong Chinh, Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station, was appointed to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Son La Newspaper.
Comrades: Nguyen Thanh Hai, Le Huy Ngoan (Deputy Editors-in-Chief of Son La Newspaper); Dam Xuan Phuong (Deputy Director of Provincial Radio and Television Station) were appointed to hold the position of Deputy Editors-in-Chief of Son La Newspaper.
Speaking at the task assignment, Standing Deputy Secretary of Son La Provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung requested Son La Newspaper to urgently deploy tasks and work aspects according to the new organization; ensure good inheritance of tasks of Son La Newspaper, Radio and Television before the merger; not to let work be interrupted, stopped, or missed.
Son La Newspaper urgently develops working regulations and work programs and plans for the last months of 2025 to ensure full implementation of the agency's new functions and tasks; does a good job of ideological work for cadres and party members to feel secure in their work and complete assigned tasks well, creating a truly exciting new atmosphere with high determination to successfully carry out assigned political tasks; pays attention to fully and promptly implementing regimes and policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers affected by the process of organizational restructuring.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee also requested that the officials appointed to the positions of Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Son La Newspaper promptly get to work, quickly grasp the new tasks, gather and promote the spirit of solidarity, democracy, discipline and responsibility in the agency; lead and direct the Son La Newspaper agency to develop comprehensively.
On behalf of the Editorial Board, staff, civil servants and employees, in his acceptance speech, Editor-in-Chief of Son La Newspaper La Minh Tuan promised to promote the tradition of solidarity, constantly train the political qualities, ethics and lifestyle of journalists; improve professional qualifications, innovate types of journalism to ensure quality, join hands to build Son La Newspaper to develop more and more, fast, accurate, correct, good, suitable for trends, humane, modern, accompanying the province to develop sustainably in the era of national development.
On the same day, Son La Provincial Party Committee organized a meeting with press agencies to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
Along with the growth of the national press, press activities and the team of journalists in Son La province are constantly growing in both quantity and quality, and professionalism is increasingly improved.
In recent times, press agencies have coordinated with specialized agencies of the province to do a good job of orienting public opinion, contributing to making the leadership, direction and administration of Party committees and authorities at all levels more effective.
In particular, the achievements that Son La has made in the cause of building, protecting and developing the province, in addition to the high determination, great efforts, drastic and effective actions of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots, have had great contributions from press agencies and journalists inside and outside the province.
On this occasion, Son La province awarded the Suoi Reo Journalism Award 2024-2025 to authors and groups of authors whose works won the award./.
