The People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province has just issued a document requesting departments, agencies, and localities to strengthen measures to prevent and combat child drowning during the summer of 2026, striving to reduce the number of incidents by at least 30% compared to 2025. In 2025, the province experienced 14 drowning incidents resulting in 14 child deaths; from the beginning of 2026 to date, there have been 4 incidents resulting in 4 child deaths.
To prevent and combat child drowning, the province requires a review and placement of warning signs in dangerous areas; intensified propaganda, swimming lessons, and provision of water safety skills; and a stronger role for families, schools, and communities in managing and supervising children more effectively.
Thai Nguyen : Industrial production index reaches highest level in 5 years.
In the first four months of 2026, the industrial production index (IIP) of Thai Nguyen province increased by 18.52% compared to the same period last year, the highest level in the past five years. Notably, the processing and manufacturing sector continued to play a driving role in growth, increasing by 19.06%.
Many sectors achieved high growth rates, such as machinery and equipment manufacturing (up 33.89%), paper products (up 28.19%), and electronic products (up 19.85%). In the coming period, the province will focus on diversifying markets, maintaining production, and promoting industrial growth.
Phu Tho proactively responds to natural disasters during the rainy season.
In 2025, natural disasters caused approximately 1,550 billion VND in damage in Phu Tho province, mainly due to heavy rains and floods in the mountainous areas. The province experienced 13 widespread heavy rain events, causing landslides at 1,428 locations, affecting over 17,000 meters of riverbanks, streams, and numerous hillside slopes.
Faced with the increasing risk of flash floods, landslides, and mudslides, the province has directed localities to review vulnerable areas, develop evacuation plans, strengthen warnings, and disseminate disaster prevention skills. Localities are also stepping up reforestation and forest protection efforts to reduce the risk of landslides and minimize casualties.
Bac Ninh plans Chau Phong inland port in a green and smart direction.
Bac Ninh province is implementing a detailed 1/500 scale plan for the Chau Phong inland port project to promote the development of logistics infrastructure. The project covers an area of over 110 hectares, with an expected capacity of 10-12 million tons of goods per year.
The inland port is being developed according to green and smart standards, encouraging the installation of solar power, the use of electric transport vehicles, and the treatment and reuse of wastewater using biological technology. Upon completion, the project will contribute to optimizing the supply chain, reducing logistics costs, and promoting the economic development of the local area and surrounding regions.
Cao Bang provides training in establishing cooperative groups and cooperatives for farmers.

Lang Son enhances digital skills for ethnic minority communities.
The Lang Son Department of Science and Technology recently collaborated with the People's Committees of 31 communes to organize training on digital skills and information security for over 2,000 members of community digital technology teams and local residents.
Trainees were instructed on using VNeID electronic identity accounts, online public services, electronic payments, information security skills, and preventing online fraud.
