Specifically, on May 25th, the fire lasted from approximately 12 PM to 2 PM; on May 26th, from approximately 1:15 PM to 2:50 PM; on May 27th, from 1 PM to 3 PM; and from May 28th to the present, the fire has appeared during the hottest hours of the day, lasting for about 30-40 minutes.
According to the family, the fire was about 5 cm wide, on the concrete yard in front of their house (the family poured the concrete yard in November 2025, with a thickness of about 40-50 cm). When it burned, it produced white smoke and yellow embers.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Chau commune, Doan Xuan Ngoc, on May 26th, upon receiving feedback from the village management board, the commune dispatched a working group including officials and staff from the Economic Department, the Commune Military Command, and the Commune Police to assess the situation at the scene, provide psychological support to the families, and guide the village management board and households in cordoning off the area, erecting barriers, and restricting people's movement in the affected area.
Although the fire appeared in a small area and caused no damage or economic impact, and occurred at midday during a hot period, its cause remained unclear, causing panic among families and villagers. To address this unusual phenomenon, the commune leaders reported the situation to the Provincial People's Committee for guidance and direction to relevant agencies to investigate and determine the cause.
After receiving a report from Yen Chau commune, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province directed the Provincial Police to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments and units to investigate and verify the unusual fire in Ngua village; report the results of the investigation and propose solutions to remedy the situation before June 10, 2026.
Currently, a task force from the Son La Provincial Police is conducting an investigation and verification of the incident.
