In recent years, in addition to implementing economic and social development programs, Sop Cop district has always focused on mobilizing and integrating capital sources to invest in essential infrastructure to serve people's lives and improve people's lives.

These days, the atmosphere of labor competition in production at key projects of the district is taking place urgently. Dozens of workers and machines of Phu Dat Son La Joint Stock Company are constructing the Nam Lanh - Nam Ca bridge (phase II), Sop Cop commune.
Mr. Tong Van Thuy, Chairman of Sop Cop Commune People's Committee, said: We believe that when the Nam Lanh - Nam Ca bridge is completed and put into use, it will facilitate people's travel and goods circulation, contributing to the completion of the traffic infrastructure in the area; speed up the construction progress of the Project to build Sop Cop commune into a type V urban area and develop according to the orientation of building a town in the period of 2021 - 2025.
In the process of implementing infrastructure investment, the District People's Committee regularly reviews planning projects to adjust them to suit the actual situation, as a basis for effective management and implementation of investment in construction works; focusing on administrative reform, quickly resolving administrative procedures for individuals, organizations and enterprises investing in the area. In 2023, the district was assigned 333.5 billion VND, allocating 100% of the assigned capital plan in detail; allocating to 118 works and projects, of which 105 projects were completed and transferred, 13 new projects started. To date, 297.8 billion VND has been disbursed and paid, reaching 89.3% of the detailed capital plan.
Mr. Vu Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, said: During the investment and construction process, the district mobilized many capital sources, such as: Local budget balance capital, national target programs, integrated with other programs and contributions from the people.
The district focuses on developing urban infrastructure, large-scale projects that have been invested in, completed and put into use have proven effective, changing the face of the district. Currently, the infrastructure investment project for the residential arrangement point in the district administrative center has been planned in detail and invested in synchronous infrastructure. Typical projects have been completed and handed over for use in 2023, such as: Residential arrangement area in the disaster area of Nam Lan village, Muong Lan commune; domestic water between Pung Tong village, Phongg village, Long Tong village, Lanh village, Cang village, Nam Lanh commune; upgrading the road from Pung Banh commune, Sop Cop district to Dua Mon commune, Song Ma district; bridge over Cang stream, Nam Lanh commune...

In implementation, the district prioritizes resources to build transport infrastructure to meet the tasks of economic and social development. From 2018 to present, it has completed the construction, upgrading, renovation and repair of 136 inter-commune, inter-village and intra-village roads with a total length of over 125 km. Currently, the district is implementing the hardening of 11 commune roads, with a total length of over 40 km, expected to be completed and put into use in 2024.
In addition, the district has coordinated with investors to upgrade and repair important routes, such as: Sop Cop - Muong Va - Muong Lan inter-commune route, 26 km long; Sop Cop - Muong Leo route, 64 km long, with asphalt pavement connecting Muong Leo, Sam Kha, Pung Banh, Dom Cang communes with the district center, etc. These routes have been completed and put into use, well meeting the travel and freight transport needs of the people. 8/8 communes in the district have car roads to the center.

All communes in the district have built solid and spacious offices, schools, and medical stations; more than 92% of the population has access to national grid electricity and clean water. From 2018 to present, the district has invested in building, renovating, and repairing 100 schools and classrooms, with a total investment of over 150 billion VND. In addition, the district has focused on upgrading infrastructure, purchasing equipment for medical stations in communes, and training human resources for grassroots health . 8/8 communes meet national health standards, contributing to improving the quality of medical services and primary health care for the people.
The State's support programs and policies have been contributing to changing the face of the countryside, improving the lives of people in the border district of Sop Cop; strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State, gradually helping the district escape poverty.
