The new 2026 Subaru Trailseeker EV looks like Subaru stretched out the Solterra electric SUV, with a longer rear overhang and a slightly more upright rear windshield, turning it into a wagon. |

The Subaru Trailseeker electric SUV is 150mm longer and nearly 25mm taller than its sibling, all of which should increase cargo space, although no official figures have been released yet. It’s still a five-seater, though, so we’ll have to wait for another three-row, seven-seat Subaru/Toyota electric SUV to arrive. |

Also new is the Trailseeker's front end, which adopts a new design largely shared with the facelifted Solterra, with split LED headlights topped by six-segment daytime running lights, a grille-less front bumper, and illuminated Pleiades badges. |

Unlike the Solterra, which gets a cleaner all-over body treatment, the Trailseeker retains the polarizing black plastic fenders, here paired with silver mudguards. The all-new rear end looks much more conventional than the Solterra, with full-width taillights paired with new Subaru lettering, located above the license plate recess on the tailgate. |

The Trailseeker also gets standard roof rails and 18- and 20-inch wheel options. Inside, the Trailseeker gets a new 14-inch touchscreen that incorporates physical climate controls and temperature knobs, similar to what you’ll find on Lexus models. |

The entire dashboard has been redesigned too, with a completely redesigned center console featuring dual 15W Qi wireless chargers for the first time. Meanwhile, the rectangular steering wheel will be less obstructive to the raised instrument cluster display. |

All Trailseekers come standard with Subaru's EyeSight suite of driver assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, emergency stop assist, and a 360-degree camera system. |

Unlike the Solterra, the Trailseeker comes standard with all-wheel drive, thanks to two electric motors that produce around 375 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, making it the fastest Subaru on the market. |

The new 74.7 kWh battery offers a range of over 260 miles; since this is on the strict EPA cycle, expect a slightly higher WLTP figure. The Trailseeker is also Subaru's first EV to come standard with Tesla's NACS charging port. Full details and pricing for the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker EV will be announced in due course. |
