Over the years, the Party Committee of Suoi Kiet commune, Tanh Linh district, has focused on implementing decisive and comprehensive solutions to promote the new rural development movement, integrating good models and effective methods. As a result, the relationship between the Party and the people has become increasingly close.
Visiting Suoi Kiet these days, no one would think that a commune with five villages and difficult roads has now become like a town within a village. Especially in Village 2, which is predominantly inhabited by ethnic minorities, many houses are new and spacious, and the roads, including narrow alleyways that were once small trails, are now paved with concrete, allowing cars to reach the houses. Ms. Mang Thi Thuy, who lives in an alley behind Suoi Kiet Kindergarten, shared that in the past, living conditions for the people here were difficult, but in recent years, the Party and State have shown concern and created favorable conditions for people to do business, so now life is much better. In response to that concern, we always abide by the policies and guidelines of the Party and State. For example, recently, the Commune People's Committee implemented the new rural road construction program under the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025, and we donated land to expand the road.
The village currently has 6 rural roads, each paved with concrete and over 4 meters wide, with entrance gates, streetlights, and flagpoles for displaying celebratory flags during holidays and festivals. Security and order in the village are relatively stable, with no law violations occurring. Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, Secretary of the village Party branch, said that the village has 427 households/1,582 people, mainly of the Raglay ethnic group; there are 16 Party members, 14 of whom are from the ethnic minority. The village has many good models such as: the security lighting model, the traffic safety model, the flagpole model, and the model of planting flowers along the roadsides, which are currently being promoted… The villagers here comply quite well with the Party's policies and guidelines, especially in donating land for road construction. Therefore, the Party branch of village 2 has consistently performed its duties excellently since its establishment in 2018.
Besides Hamlet 2, which has a large ethnic minority population, other hamlets such as Hamlets 1, 3, 4, and 5 are also well-maintained, green, clean, and beautiful. The movements launched by the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune have been actively supported by the people in the hamlets. For example, the commune launched a campaign to build welcome gates at the entrances of the hamlets, with each gate costing 15-20 million VND. After the campaign, people and businesses alike responded by contributing. To date, every hamlet has a welcome gate, a testament to the people's love for their homeland.
To transform these hamlets into "towns within villages," it was thanks to the efforts of the commune Party Committee in strictly implementing the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee and the programs and plans of Party committees at all levels to cadres, Party members, and the people. In addition, the Party Committee consistently promoted the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style.
In political and ideological education, the commune Party Committee focuses on improving the quality of cadres, civil servants, and public employees, and the exemplary role of leaders. Alongside political and ideological education, the Suoi Kiet commune Party Committee actively builds a team of cadres and Party members with exemplary spirit, organizational discipline, and practical capabilities to successfully complete their tasks. The commune Party Committee regularly disseminates the resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels to each Party branch and Party member, while also establishing operational regulations and maintaining a systematic schedule of Party branch meetings. Weekly, monthly, and quarterly, the commune Party Committee holds meetings with departments, organizations, and Party branch secretaries to draw lessons learned and identify shortcomings for timely correction. The assignment of Party Committee members to attend village Party branch meetings is strictly implemented; suggestions from Party members in each branch are compiled, considered, and resolved. Party members and officials are assigned to oversee individual households, villages, and hamlets to act as a bridge in disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations to the people. From there, each official and party member plays a pioneering and exemplary role in socio-economic development movements and encourages their families and the general public to participate.
Suoi Kiet is known as one of the few localities in the province that achieved the new rural standard at the beginning of the National Target Program on building new rural areas for the 2021-2025 period. This was one of the most difficult stages to achieve compared to previous stages, as there were 19 criteria, many of which were challenging sub-criteria. Mr. Tran Minh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Suoi Kiet commune, said that Suoi Kiet is the commune with the largest natural land area in the district, bordering many communes and districts, including villages bordering Dong Nai province. The commune achieved the new rural standard in 2022, the beginning of the new rural construction phase. This phase had many difficult criteria, but with determination and the motto of turning difficulties into advantages, the commune strived to make Suoi Kiet a new rural commune. That year, Suoi Kiet was the first commune in Tanh Linh district and some other communes in the province to achieve the new rural standard.
The Party Committee has continuously innovated the content and methods of propaganda and education on Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought for cadres and Party members, contributing to raising political and ideological awareness, advising on and developing orientations, policies, and solutions for economic, cultural, and social development, while also concretizing them into criteria suitable to the local characteristics. To date, the local situation is stable, and the people trust in the Party and State's policies and guidelines. This is also a prerequisite for the commune to strive to achieve the advanced new rural development goals soon, Mr. Tuan added.
Building on the achievements, in the coming period, the Party Committee of Suoi Kiet commune will continue to implement comprehensive solutions to constantly improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations and Party members; continue to maintain the title of Party Committee that has successfully completed its tasks, strengthen the people's trust in the Party and government, and build a stronger and more prosperous Suoi Kiet.
The Party Committee of Suoi Kiet commune has 150 members, organized into 12 branches. Of these, 11 out of 12 branches have performed their duties well or better. In 2023, Suoi Kiet admitted 8 new party members, paved 6 roads with concrete, and built 14 new houses for policy beneficiary families, the poor, and the near-poor, using funds from the Fund for the Poor and contributions from benefactors inside and outside the locality.
