T&T Group starts construction of social housing project in Ca Mau

T&T Group has just officially started construction of a social housing project in An Xuyen ward, Ca Mau province, with a scale of more than 1,200 apartments, contributing to the realization of the project of 1 million social housing units by 2030.

On August 19, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province coordinated with T&T Group to officially start construction of the social housing project in An Xuyen ward, Ca Mau province. This is one of 22 typical social housing projects simultaneously started and inaugurated nationwide in a series of special activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The event is not only an important step forward in the social housing development program for the 2021-2030 period of Ca Mau province, but also contributes to realizing the Government's goal in the Project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the 2021-2030 period; at the same time, continuing to affirm the accompanying role of T&T Group and the private economic sector with the major policies of the Party, State and Government.

More than 1,200 social housing units, serving nearly 5,000 residents

The social housing project in An Xuyen Ward, Ca Mau Province, belongs to the T&T Ca Mau Urban Area (located in Hamlet 5, Ward 1, Ca Mau City, now An Xuyen Ward, Ca Mau Province) invested by T&T Land Ca Mau Company Limited - a member of T&T Group. On a land area of 2.05 hectares, the social housing project includes 5 10-storey buildings with 1,241 apartments, providing accommodation for nearly 5,000 residents; in which phase 1 will deploy a 10-storey building with a scale of 210 apartments.

Inspired by the image of a boat and Ca Mau cape - the symbol of the southernmost region of the country, the project with its strong, decisive architectural lines both reflects the unique identity of Ca Mau and depicts the desire to conquer the sea.

Located in the T&T Ca Mau Urban Area of nearly 23 hectares, the social housing area is designed in harmony with synchronously invested technical and social infrastructure, diverse utilities and convenient traffic connections. When completed, the project will not only solve the housing needs of low-income people, workers and the disadvantaged, but also contribute to improving the quality of life, ensuring social security and shaping the appearance of a modern urban area in the central area of Ca Mau.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Huynh Huu Tri, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province affirmed that the social housing project in An Xuyen ward, Ca Mau province with a construction scale of 1,241 social housing units is identified by the province as one of the key projects in the province's social housing development plan, contributing to realizing the goal of developing 4,800 social housing units in the province by 2030.

“On behalf of the provincial People's Committee, I highly appreciate and welcome T&T Group for actively participating in investment, demonstrating determination in implementing the construction of social housing, a field of profound humanitarian significance and urgent for the sustainable development of the province. The completed project will contribute to improving the quality of urban infrastructure, creating momentum for Ca Mau province to focus on socio-economic development associated with the goal of comprehensive, equitable and humane development, leaving no one behind”, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Huynh Huu Tri affirmed.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of T&T Group, in addition to large-scale commercial real estate projects, T&T Group always perseveres with the mission of accompanying localities in social security programs, improving the quality of life and community welfare. T&T Group's strategic move in developing social housing

Recently, at the conference to review the implementation of social housing development targets in the first 7 months of 2025 and the implementation plan for the last 5 months of 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that developing social housing reflects the good nature of the regime, no matter how difficult it is, it must be done; at the same time, he determined that this is a key task, a top priority, a command from the heart, historical and cultural traditions, noble humanity, national sentiment, and compatriotism in socio-economic development.

In Decision No. 444/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2025, the Prime Minister assigned the target of the number of apartments that localities must complete in the 2025-2030 period to be 995,445 social housing apartments, of which 100,275 apartments will be completed in 2025. In the first 7 months of 2025, the whole country has completed 36,962/100,275 apartments, reaching 37%. It is expected that by the end of 2025, an additional 36,700 apartments will be completed, bringing the total number of completed apartments for the year to 73,671, reaching 73%; 127,261 apartments are being invested in and will be completed in the following years.

Of the 31 localities assigned targets, 9 localities are capable of completing and exceeding the plan, including Ca Mau.

The groundbreaking of the social housing project in Ca Mau is the next step in the chain of social housing projects that T&T Group is implementing in many localities across the country, demonstrating the group's long-term commitment to a segment that requires a lot of dedication and resources.

In the context of the 1 million social housing project in the 2021-2030 period being promoted, the participation of large private enterprises such as T&T Group is important: Adding more supply, sharing the burden with the Government and creating momentum for the social housing market to develop more diversely and sustainably.

Notably, Ca Mau has been assigned the target of building 4,800 social housing units by 2030. With a scale of more than 1,200 apartments, the project invested by T&T Group will make a significant contribution, helping the locality get closer to this goal. Not only does it solve the housing needs and improve the quality of life for nearly 5,000 residents, the project also contributes to forming a sustainable urban appearance and concretizing the Housing Development Program of Ca Mau province to 2025 and orientation to 2030; creating momentum for sustainable socio-economic growth in the locality.
