Deepti Khatuja, a nutritionist at Fortis Hospital, Gurgaon (India), said: Diabetics can drink guava leaf tea. Drinking this tea will help control blood sugar levels. Guava leaves act as a tonic for diabetics. It helps improve insulin levels.

Diabetics should drink guava leaf tea after meals for better results. However, it can also be drunk in the morning.

According to India TV News , the mixing method is as follows:

Take 5-10 fresh guava leaves and wash them under running water. Pour 1.5 cups (350 ml) of water into a pot and boil over medium heat for 2 minutes. Then add the guava leaves and boil for 5 minutes. For easier drinking, you can add ½ teaspoon of regular tea leaves. After boiling for 10 minutes, add water and strain.

If you don’t want to brew it like tea, you can wash 2-3 guava leaves and chew them on an empty stomach in the morning. This will be beneficial for diabetics. You can also consume guava leaves by drying them and making powder.

In addition, guava leaves have another important benefit: controlling cholesterol levels, helping to eliminate accumulated cholesterol.
