This morning, July 15, An Thang Ward held the inauguration ceremony of the project to upgrade and expand DH1 road to the house of Vietnamese Heroic Mother (VNAH) Nguyen Thi Thu. This is also a project to welcome the 1st Party Congress of An Thang Ward, term 2025 - 2030.
Construction of the route started in November 2024, with a total length of 708.7m, including 4 branches, a cross-sectional scale of 9.5m wide roadbed, 7.5m wide road surface, 2m wide sidewalk, and a total investment cost of 8.3 billion VND.
In particular, the pavement structure is newly designed with asphalt concrete, crushed stone aggregate foundation, longitudinal drainage system designed with centrifugal concrete round culverts combined with water collection manholes to ensure surface water drainage for the entire project and residential areas, with lighting system... After nearly 8 months of construction, the project has been completed and put into use.
An Thang is a new ward established on the basis of merging 3 wards Dien Thang Trung, Dien Thang Nam and Dien An (old). The ward's infrastructure still has many limitations, in which the traffic infrastructure in the blocks has been built for a long time, the current state is mostly degraded, the lighting and drainage systems have not been invested synchronously, affecting traffic safety and the landscape of the residential area.
Mr. Dang Cong Nhien - Chairman of An Thang Ward People's Committee said that the roads leading to the house of the Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thu have small cement concrete roads that were invested in and built nearly 20 years ago. Many locations are damaged, seriously degraded and subsided, affecting traffic safety. During the rainy season, water stagnates on the road surface, causing unsanitary conditions and loss of the landscape of the residential area.
Meanwhile, every year, the Mother House of the Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thu welcomes many domestic and foreign delegations to visit, including high-ranking leaders of the Party and State. Therefore, the investment in the construction of the project to upgrade and expand the DH1 road to the Mother House of the Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thu is very necessary.
Thereby, not only helping to overcome the deterioration of the roads leading to the house of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thu, serving the safe travel needs of the people, but also ensuring aesthetics and environmental sanitation in the process of welcoming delegations to visit and pay homage to Mother Thu's house.
