At about 9:00 a.m. on February 12 (the third day of Tet), a railway traffic accident occurred in An My commune (Tuy An district, Phu Yen province), killing one person and injuring another.
At that time, passenger train SE5 was traveling from North to South. When reaching Km 1184+200 on the railway with automatic barriers near Hoa Da station (An My commune), the train collided with two people on a motorbike traveling from West to East.
According to local residents, the motorcyclist swerved through the automatic barrier to go. The accident caused TAT (born in 2006, Chi Thanh town, Tuy An district) to die on the spot; TTNQ (born in 2006, An Dan commune, Tuy An district) was seriously injured and was taken to Phu Yen Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment.
A representative of Phu Yen General Hospital said that the victim Q. was brought to the emergency room with a severe traumatic brain injury, dilated pupils, and crushed feet. After receiving emergency care, the patient's pulse returned.
Currently, the family has asked for patient Q. to be transferred to Binh Dinh Provincial General Hospital.
After the accident, the authorities promptly coordinated to handle the incident. Passenger train SE5 stopped for 25 minutes and then returned to Tuy Hoa Station to pick up and drop off passengers as usual.
