(NADS) - This fall, Vietnamese tourists are prioritizing tours to China, instead of traditional destinations such as Japan and South Korea. The main reason is reasonable prices while tours to the North are slowing down due to the impact of storms and floods.
Many travel agents say that this year’s fall travel trends have not changed much. Destinations such as South Korea, Japan and Europe are still popular, but more and more tourists are turning to China.
Ms. Luu Thi Thu, Deputy Director of Hoang Viet Travel, said: Unique autumn destinations with reasonable prices are attracting tourists. The booking rate of tours to Japan and South Korea has slowed down due to high costs and complicated visa procedures, while tours to China, especially Beijing, Shanghai, Lijiang and Jiuzhaigou, reached an occupancy rate of about 80% from mid to late October...
As of September 23, Danh Nam Travel and its Chinese tour alliance recorded an occupancy rate of nearly 90%. Notable itineraries such as Beijing - Shanghai with the golden leaf season cost from 21 to 24 million VND per person. In particular, the newly opened Chongqing - Jiuzhaigou tour also achieved an occupancy rate of nearly 80%.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tung, Director of Danh Nam Travel, said that the price of China tours this year has not changed much compared to last year and is within the budget of customers. Some tours such as Lijiang - Shangri-La have even decreased by about 500,000 VND thanks to competition between airlines.
Vietravel has also noted great interest from Vietnamese tourists in autumn landscapes in China. This year, the company has launched a number of domestic products combined with inter-route routes to Yunnan to meet the needs of tourists.
Meanwhile, the number of customers interested in traditional tours such as Japan is still large. Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huyen, Sales Director of MayTrip, said the company has about 40 groups departing in the fall, with a reservation rate of 46%. Tourists often choose traditional tours such as Tokyo - Fuji - Nagoya - Kyoto, with prices ranging from 25 to 29 million VND.
In addition, Vietluxtour is promoting tours to Laos this fall, with business results 15% better than the same period last year. Customers are mainly businesses or individuals aged 30 to 45, living in big cities. Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Marketing and Communications Director of Vietluxtour, commented that Laos has an equally beautiful autumn, with green forests covering nearly 50% of the area.
Regarding domestic tours, the Northeast - Northwest is usually the top choice for tourists in the fall but is currently affected by Typhoon Yagi . Reservation rates for mountain tours are slowing down due to concerns about flooding. Danh Nam Travel also said it had to adjust its schedule to ensure the safety of customers.
According to a representative of Hoang Viet Travel, many tourists are shifting from the mountainous areas of the East - Northwest to the southern provinces such as Nha Trang, Da Lat and the West to ensure safety. The unit has also exploited new destinations such as Ta Dung Lake in the Central Highlands tour.
Ms. Luu Thi Thu emphasized: "Although the autumn tours to the Northeast were affected after the storm, new destinations still promise to attract visitors during this period."
