Violating driver drove straight into traffic police lieutenant colonel

On April 29, Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police said that the authorities are coordinating to clarify the case of a driver who violated traffic laws and crashed into a traffic police officer.

The incident occurred at around 1:53 p.m. on April 28, at km 800+500 of National Highway 1A, passing through Phong Dien town. At this time, the Traffic Control Patrol Team of the Traffic Police Department discovered motorbike 75H1-750.60 traveling north-south in violation of speed.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Anh Cong Minh signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection, but driver Pham Ngoc An (23 years old, residing in Vinh Ha, Phu Vang, Thua Thien Hue province) did not comply. The male driver drove straight into the person, causing Lieutenant Colonel Minh to fall onto the road and be injured.

After the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Minh was taken to Hue Central Hospital for emergency treatment. The driver suffered minor injuries. After testing, he did not violate the alcohol concentration limit.

According to Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police, during the April 30-May 1 holiday and the peak summer tourist season in 2024, the provincial Traffic Police force will coordinate with police units and localities to mobilize maximum forces and vehicles to organize patrols, control, and handle violations of traffic safety and order.

Authorities will focus on handling violations of alcohol concentration, speeding, oversized and overloaded vehicles... with the motto "no exceptions, no forbidden zones".
