Thanks to this, new recruits quickly overcome their initial awkwardness, gradually develop their character, and are ready to accept and successfully complete their assigned tasks.

New recruit Nguyen Hoang Phuc Tien (Artillery Platoon 1, Artillery Company 7, Artillery Battalion 12, Artillery Regiment 54, 320th Division, 34th Corps) shared: “The military environment is very different from home, and I was quite bewildered in the beginning. However, the unit commander provided thorough guidance on everything from meals and sleep to daily activities. I am determined to complete the training well and am ready to accept any assigned task.”

Sharing the same sentiment, new recruit Nguyen Cong Khanh (Platoon 1, Company 1, Training and Mobile Battalion, Border Guard Command of the province) said: “After graduating from the Vietnam-Korea University of Information Technology and Communication ( Da Nang University), I volunteered to enlist because I love the green uniform of the border guard. In the beginning, I felt a lot of apprehension and nervousness, but the unit commanders showed great care and provided dedicated guidance. Initially, I didn't know how to fold blankets or put on my belt, but after a few days, I could do it well. I am determined to strive to complete my training and future duties well.”

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thanh, Political Officer of the Training and Mobile Battalion, the unit is tasked with training 190 new recruits in 2026. The Party Committee and the Unit Command have issued leadership resolutions and specialized resolutions on training; developed specific plans; supplemented lesson plans, training models and equipment, and improved training grounds… in order to receive and train new recruits systematically.

“The climatic conditions and customs in the recruits' hometowns differ to some extent, which affects the training process. Therefore, we have determined that training must be safe and highly effective. The goal is that after the training course, the soldiers can perform their duties well at units stationed in border areas as well as in the sea and islands,” said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thanh.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Thanh, this year, the educational level of new recruits has improved, with nearly 85% graduating from high school; of which more than 40% have university, college, or vocational school degrees. Despite the large number of personnel, the unit still arranges a reasonable training schedule, helping soldiers quickly adapt to the climate conditions and develop military discipline.

Lieutenant Vu Quyen Linh, platoon leader of Artillery Platoon 1 (Artillery Company 7), said: "During new recruit training, the unit combines lectures with visual aids to ensure soldiers grasp the content thoroughly; officers demonstrate the movements for soldiers to observe and follow; questions are frequently asked to reinforce knowledge, with practical training being the focus."

At the same time, we closely monitor the training process, promptly guide soldiers who have not yet grasped the content, and regularly understand the mindset and encourage those who are still wavering. We treat new recruits like younger brothers in the unit to create closeness and cohesion, helping them to successfully complete their tasks.

At the 29th Signal Regiment (34th Corps), on March 12th, new recruits underwent a health check-up; training officially began on March 13th. Prior to this, the unit had meticulously prepared for various aspects, including: training of training staff; standardization of troop management and training methods; and the preparation of lesson plans, lectures, teaching aids, and training grounds.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Van Ha, Commander of the 29th Signal Regiment, stated: “Officers at all levels have clearly defined their responsibility to set an example, stay close to the grassroots, and understand the thoughts and aspirations of the soldiers to help them quickly integrate into the military environment. With thorough and comprehensive preparation, we are confident that the training of new recruits in 2026 will achieve high results and ensure absolute safety.”

Attention to even the smallest details, from meals and sleep to training methods, has laid a solid foundation for the new recruits. Although the first days in the military environment may be somewhat unfamiliar, with the dedication of the officers and the determination of the new soldiers, the 2026 training season promises to achieve many positive results, contributing to building an increasingly strong force.
