Strengthening management of mineral exploitation activities in riverbeds and streams

Sand and gravel mining activities on rivers and streams are strictly managed.

Accordingly, from September 6 to 10, 2024 , in Tuyen Quang province, there were many periods of moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. At the same time, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant discharged 8 bottom spillways, causing many landslides on river banks and streams, affecting people's property and lives.

Faced with the negative developments from the consequences of natural disasters, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the following sectors: Natural Resources and Environment, Police, Industry and Trade, Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, People's Committees of districts and cities to inspect and assess the situation of landslides on river beds and banks, streams, caused by storm No. 3 and post-storm floods in the province, to promptly handle and prevent harmful risks.
