Strengthening the exchange of anti-corrosion experience between gas and petrochemical plants under Petrovietnam

On October 10, 2025, the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group (Petrovietnam) organized a Workshop on Anti-corrosion, Diagnosis and Assessment of Equipment Condition in Gas and Petrochemical Plants. This is a regularly organized activity to enhance experience exchange, improve technical capacity and cooperation in the field of maintenance and repair of Petrovietnam's gas and petrochemical plants.

The workshop was attended by leaders of Petrovietnam Gas and Petrochemical Industry Department, representatives of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS), Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo - Phu My), Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC), Petroleum Construction Maintenance and Repair Joint Stock Corporation (PVMR), Vietnam Petrochemical and Fiber Joint Stock Company (VNPOLY), along with experts and engineers from Petrovietnam's refineries, fertilizer and gas plants.

Overview of the Workshop on Anti-corrosion, Diagnosis and Evaluation of Equipment Condition in Factories in the Gas and Petrochemical Industry organized by Petrovietnam

In his opening speech, Mr. Ngo Anh Hien - Deputy Head of the Gas and Petrochemical Industry Department emphasized that anti-corrosion is an important task in maintenance, repair and management of industrial assets. Sharing data, lessons learned and anti-corrosion technology among units will help Petrovietnam build a proactive incident prevention system, contributing to ensuring operational safety, cost reduction and sustainable development.

Within the framework of the workshop, BSR , PVCFC, PVFCCo - Phu My, PVMR presented 4 in-depth papers on experience, solutions and new technologies in the field of anti-corrosion and equipment condition diagnosis. The discussion contents focused on the application of advanced materials, surface coating techniques, digital equipment monitoring technology and predictive maintenance models.

Mr. Mai Tuan Dat - Deputy General Director of BSR: Through this workshop, BSR hopes to spread practical experiences and acquire new solutions from units under Petrovietnam to improve the reliability of the system.

Sharing at the workshop, Mr. Mai Tuan Dat - Deputy General Director of BSR said that in more than 17 years of operating Dung Quat Refinery, BSR has faced many challenges of equipment corrosion in harsh environments. Through this workshop, BSR hopes to spread practical experiences and acquire new solutions from Petrovietnam units to improve system reliability, improve production and business efficiency, and meet international standards.
