To commemorate the 98th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023), on the morning of June 13, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and worked with the Vietnam Journalists Association .
In his opening remarks, Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Le Quoc Minh, stated that in recent years, the Vietnam Journalists Association has contributed to organizing and motivating journalists to successfully promote the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws, and the great and comprehensive achievements of the country in all fields; and to implement the Party's resolutions and directives and the State's regulations on information and press work.
Promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, in conjunction with implementing regulations on the ethics of Vietnamese journalists, aims to build a team of journalists with strong political convictions, impeccable professional ethics, and high professional skills.
The Vietnam Journalists Association continues to develop strongly, with many positive changes and in-depth activities, and many outstanding events affirming the role and position of a political, social, and professional organization of Vietnamese journalists in social life.

"Continuing to strengthen and enhance the role and position of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new era. Many key activities and tasks of the Association at all levels, from the central to local levels, have been implemented well, such as: strengthening the education, political and ideological work, professional skills, and professional ethics of members, protecting the legal right to practice of reporters and journalists, and gathering and uniting the team of journalists...", Mr. Le Quoc Minh shared.
The National Press Awards are held annually, attracting an increasing number of participants, with both the quantity and quality of entries steadily improving; the National Press Conference features many useful and engaging professional activities.
The Vietnam Journalists Association also collaborates with central ministries and agencies to organize specialized journalism awards; along with local journalism awards and many other vibrant activities that contribute to affirming the position and role of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the country's journalistic life.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, the Journalists' Associations at all levels nationwide are actively implementing the emulation movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies" to realize the goal of "Building a professional, humane, and modern press and media" as outlined in the Party's 13th Congress documents and the directives of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Culture Conference at the end of 2021.
Every year, the cultural, sports, and social welfare activities of the Central Association are regular and effective, creating a vibrant movement with widespread influence in social life, reflecting the humanistic beauty of Vietnamese journalists, and contributing to enhancing the prestige of the Association.
Looking ahead to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day, Mr. Le Quoc Minh stated that the Journalists Association at all levels will continue to focus on political and ideological education to ensure that a large number of members and journalists deeply understand their role as pioneering revolutionary fighters on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, and to enhance the political fortitude of journalists and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
The Vietnam Journalists Association at all levels continues to implement Resolution No. 4 of the 12th Central Committee and the Conclusion of the 4th Conference of the 13th Central Committee on Party building and rectification, in conjunction with Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh, the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws, as well as implementing the Press Law, the National Press Development Plan until 2025, regulations on professional ethics for journalists, and the Code of Conduct for Vietnamese journalists on social media.

Continue to promote democracy, strengthen discipline, and innovate the content and methods of operation through diverse, creative, and practical forms and measures. The Central Committee of the Association and local Journalists' Associations should pay more attention to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members and journalists; provide timely rewards and encouragement to outstanding units and individuals, especially organizations and members directly working in difficult areas and remote regions; and at the same time strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly detecting and strictly handling journalists who violate the law and professional ethics.
"The Vietnam Journalists Association continues to work alongside media agencies to strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation in journalistic activities, maximizing the use of the Internet platform to build a converged newsroom model, integrating multimedia and multi-platform transmission, becoming strong multimedia media agencies," said Mr. Le Quoc Minh.
At the same time, we will closely coordinate with universities and media agencies to promote training and retraining for members, journalists, and reporters on journalistic skills in the digital age and the application of new technologies in journalistic activities.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, in order to continue upholding the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the revolutionary Vietnamese press, the Journalists Associations at all levels will continue to adhere to the development goals outlined by the 13th National Congress of the Party: "Building a professional, humane, and modern press and media."
Members of the Vietnam Journalists Association deeply understand the responsibilities of journalists, striving to study, cultivate, and train themselves, constantly improving their political acumen, professional skills, and expertise, upholding professional ethics, and demonstrating a spirit of dedication. They strengthen solidarity and strive to contribute to building a revolutionary Vietnamese press that is highly combative, humane, professional, and modern, for the benefit of the country and its people.
Following that, at the meeting, representatives from several media agencies and leaders from various ministries and sectors shared their views and made several important recommendations to the Prime Minister .
