Previously, on December 10th, An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television was the only media unit to collaborate with VIETRRO and other organizations to hold the 2nd Annual National Conference on Copyright and Reproduction Rights on the theme "Identifying and Protecting Intangible Assets - The Foundation for Vietnam's Creative Economic Development" in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the workshop, An Giang Newspaper and Radio-Television signed a cooperation agreement with VIETRRO to promote the implementation of the Intellectual Property Law through a mechanism of collective licensing, identification, and protection of intangible assets of agencies and businesses.

Accordingly, VIETRRO authorizes the Center for Copyright Law and its member organizations to support press agencies in establishing, managing, and protecting copyright for journalistic products and radio and television programs.

Representatives from the An Giang Newspaper and Radio-Television Department exchanged views at the working session.

During the meeting, An Giang Newspaper and Radio-Television and the Center for Law and Copyright exchanged in-depth discussions on the identification and protection of intangible assets. In the digital age, intangible assets, including knowledge, data, creative works, business models, software, digital lectures, and electronic learning materials, have become the "foundation capital" of businesses, schools, and scientific and educational organizations.

However, according to assessments by intellectual property experts and regulatory agencies, the majority of intangible assets in Vietnam have not been properly identified, and the enforcement of copyright and intellectual property rights remains limited compared to legal regulations.

For local media outlets, copyright registration for programs remains limited, making it difficult to assert ownership and address issues when content is copied or used illegally on other platforms. Many products are shared and re-broadcast by local authorities, but there is no clear mechanism to define usage rights and legal responsibilities when disputes arise.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television, Le Van Chuyen, spoke at the working session.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television, Le Van Chuyen, emphasized that copyright and copying rights are increasingly important, especially in the fields of journalism, radio, and television, where creative activities and content exploitation take place continuously.

Mr. Le Van Chuyen stated that An Giang Newspaper and Radio-Television will cooperate with the Center for Copyright and Law in communication work; and will also coordinate in implementing licensing procedures regarding copyright, copyright rights, and authorization contracts for the implementation of this content.

Director of the Center for Copyright and Law, Le Thi Minh Hang, highly appreciated the pioneering role of An Giang Newspaper and Radio-Television in implementing copyright. This is not only significant for the local press but also has national significance, contributing to the implementation of laws in Vietnam and promoting compliance with copyright and reproduction rights according to international standards.
