Children playing in the grounds of the Cultural House of Phu Vinh Tay Street, But Son Town (now Hoang Hoa Commune).
As has become a habit, every afternoon, many children and residents of Phu Vinh Tay Residential Group (TDP), But Son town (now Hoang Hoa commune) gather at the neighborhood's cultural house to play, exercise and play sports . The cultural house is spacious, the campus is spacious and airy with a small air-conditioned lake, installed with safety railings along with a gym, volleyball court, swings and exercise and sports equipment... Phu Vinh Tay Residential Group before 2019 used to belong to the old Hoang Vinh commune, then merged into But Son town and is now Hoang Hoa commune. From "village to city", in 2022 this Residential Group was recognized as a model Residential Group with a bright, green, clean, beautiful and safe appearance. Notably, at that time, when building and renovating the cultural house campus, the local people paid great attention to a safe play space for children.
Mr. Hoang Ngoc Hai, a resident of Phu Vinh Tay Residential Group, shared: The cultural house has a large campus, and is adjacent to the rice fields, so it is very cool in the summer. After the cultural house of the town was built, the Residential Group actively mobilized social resources from the people to invest in purchasing equipment, toys, and sports equipment suitable for all groups and ages, and installed them at the cultural house. People also pay attention to improving the landscape, planting more shade trees to create fresh air. During the summer, the cultural house is also a regular gathering place for young people to organize singing and dancing lessons for children when participating in cultural and artistic programs of the town and commune.
In many localities, to meet the entertainment needs of children during the summer, the Youth Union at all levels always pay attention to calling for social investment in building playgrounds for children. In Huu Khanh village, Hoang Xuan commune (now Hoang Giang commune), calling for social investment to build a campus around the cultural house area with playgrounds for young people is of special interest. In the period from 2021 to 2024 alone, the village has built 1 soccer field, 2 volleyball courts, 1 outdoor stage and an area for installing sports equipment for children and adults... with a total implementation cost of over 400 million VND. Ms. Luong Thi Phuong, who has been involved in the youth and youth movement in this locality for many years, said that the funding for implementation is entirely from socialized sources from philanthropists, successful children living far away from home who return to their homeland and are interested in youth movement activities. In particular, investing in cultural house grounds and building playgrounds for children is not only to create a space for exercise and entertainment, but also to bring joy to children and peace of mind to local people. Cultural house areas with spacious grounds often become ideal places to organize activities for youth during the summer.
Summer is the ideal time for children to participate in community activities. Village cultural houses with exciting cultural and sports activities will be an ideal place for children to play safely, exchange usefully and develop comprehensively both physically and mentally. However, in reality, in many localities, cultural houses are invested in spaciously, but there are still many issues to discuss in terms of exploitation and operation. In many places, cultural houses are mainly used for meetings, lacking people to organize cultural - sports and entertainment activities for children. Many cultural houses lack space and necessary equipment to attract entertainment activities. In addition, many cultural houses, after being invested in outdoor playgrounds with sports equipment and tools for children, have little attention to maintenance and upkeep, so they often deteriorate quickly, causing a waste of investment efficiency.
From this reality, it is necessary to have appropriate methods to encourage and attract investment from socialized sources for the construction and maintenance of cultural and sports institutions in rural areas, thereby contributing to improving the spiritual life of people, including children.
