Mobilizing forces to fight the forest fire that broke out at noon on July 19 in Phong Thanh commune (old).

After merging administrative units including Phong Thanh commune and Phong Phu ward (old), Phong Phu ward (new) has a total natural land area of more than 6,084 hectares, forested forestry land area is 2,167.59 hectares, of which production forest is more than 1,155 hectares, protective forest land: 429.53 hectares, bare land, other land: 592.49 hectares mainly located in mountainous areas, sand dunes and coastal protective forests.

Since its establishment, the new Phong Phu ward has promoted the guidance and inspection of forest fire prevention and control activities in the area; established a rapid response team for forest fire prevention and control, the Steering Committee for the Sustainable Forestry Development Target Program for the period 2025 - 2030 in the area; coordinated with relevant agencies to strengthen patrols and inspections of forest areas; implemented the "4 on-site" motto in forest fire prevention and control work, especially in key areas prone to forest fires.

Due to complicated weather conditions, prolonged hot weather from the beginning of summer, especially from early July 2025 until now, Phong Phu ward (new) has had many forest fires; especially at noon on July 19, at plot 1, Sub-area 1 of Phong Thanh commune (old), a forest fire occurred, affecting 9 hectares of production forest.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the difficulties in organizing rescue operations in recent forest fires, and at the same time proposed quick and timely response plans when forest fires occur in the area in the future.

Vice Chairman of Phong Phu Ward People's Committee Nguyen Huu Duong emphasized that in the coming time, members of the Steering Committee of the PCCCR Management and Protection Team will coordinate and guide forest owners to sign commitments in PCCCR with the authorities; effectively implement the "4 on-site" motto, focusing on prevention as the main focus, minimizing damage when forest fires occur; maintain regular meetings with the Ward People's Committee to promptly handle matters related to PCCCR work in the locality...
