Determined to defend their title and become the first team to do so in the Nations League, coach Luis de la Fuente's team had a sublime performance. "La Roja" led 2-0 after the first half ended and scored 3 more goals against "Les Bleus" before the match had even entered the 70th minute. During this time, France was helpless and only had 1 goal from the penalty spot of Kylian Mbappe.

A late effort with 3 goals in the final minutes of the match was not enough to help France turn the game around. Mbappe and his teammates continued to lose to Spain in a semi-final, thereby missing out on a ticket to the Nations League final against Portugal.

Spain is too strong at the moment.

The first half saw an open and fast-paced game. Both teams created many dangerous chances, with Théo Hernandez standing out with a series of shots. On the other hand, Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams also tormented the French defence with impressive individual efforts.

In the 22nd minute, the turning point came when Spain took the lead. Williams opened the scoring after a clever combination with Mikel Oyarzabal. Just 3 minutes later, Oyarzabal continued to shine with an assist for Mikel Merino to double the lead. Spain also put the ball in the net once more after a beautiful volley from Dean Huijsen, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

After the break, Spain continued to dominate. In the 54th minute, the score was 3-0 for the Iberian representative. Yamal took advantage of Adrien Rabiot's mistake to score from the penalty spot. Less than 1 minute later, Pedri made his mark with a goal in the 55th minute, putting La Roja up 4-0.

Just when it seemed that France would completely collapse, Didier Deschamps and his team suddenly rose up. In the 59th minute, Mbappe scored from the penalty spot, before Yamal scored again to restore the 4-goal gap.

Even with their backs against the wall, France still refused to surrender. In the last 10 minutes of the match, the reigning World Cup runners-up made Spanish fans restless. In the 79th minute, Ryan Cherki reduced the score to 2-5. Immediately after that, Dani Vivian scored an own goal.

In the 90+3 minute, Kolo Muani reduced the score to 4-5 for France, making the final period suffocating. However, Spain still maintained a fragile advantage until the final whistle blew.

With this victory, Spain extended their unbeaten streak to 19 matches, including 12 in the UEFA Nations League. They will face Portugal in the final on the morning of June 9. Meanwhile, France will face Germany in the third-place match.
