Livestock farmers need to proactively prevent and control African swine fever.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, no new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) were recorded this week, but there are still two outbreaks that have not passed the 21-day quarantine period and need to be monitored.

Specifically, monitoring and handling of the disease outbreak continues at a high-tech pig farming enterprise in Tan Hoi commune. Currently, the enterprise is implementing disinfection, sterilization, isolation, care, and treatment measures to boost immunity, temporarily suspending the import of new herds, and continuing to closely monitor the disease situation to prevent and control its spread.

At the same time, strengthen disinfection and sterilization efforts around the livestock farm of Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Giong Tre neighborhood, Binh Minh ward (where 47 pigs infected with African Swine Fever have been culled) to eliminate pathogens present in the environment.

From the beginning of 2025 to the present, African Swine Fever (ASF) has occurred in 24 households across 14 communes and wards in the province, resulting in the culling of 1,181 pigs with a total weight of nearly 44,000 kg. The outbreaks have been promptly handled, disinfected, and sterilized according to regulations.

The relevant departments are strengthening efforts to prevent and control African Swine Fever (ASF) in the province. They are focusing on closely monitoring the epidemiological situation, early detection, and timely handling of outbreaks. Vaccination, sanitation, and disinfection efforts are being intensified, especially in high-risk areas and areas previously affected by outbreaks. Furthermore, efforts are being intensified to educate and guide people and livestock farms to strictly implement biosafety measures in livestock farming and animal transportation.
