Ms. Nguyen Thi Sinh, Head of the Women's Association of Thai Long Hamlet, shared: "The 'Godmother' program is a form of shelter and love, helping orphaned children gain more emotional support and confidence on their journey to adulthood. I am very happy and proud to be accompanying the Women's Union of Vo Nhai Commune and the Vo Nhai Women's Club for a Green and Healthy Life in spreading the spirit of compassion and sharing in the community."
Implementing the "Godmother Program," the Provincial Women's Union has carried out many practical and effective activities. After the merger of the two provinces, the Provincial Women's Union conducted a review of orphaned children in the area, connecting with the Women Intellectuals Association, social funds, the Department of Education and Training, businesses, and philanthropists to sponsor 17 orphaned children in 16 communes, with a total support budget of over 216 million VND.
In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), local women's associations proactively reviewed and connected resources, maintaining the "Godmother Program" as a long-term support system for orphaned children in the locality. Beyond immediate support, the program aims to accompany and closely monitor the children's learning and development, creating a foundation for them to gain more confidence and strength to overcome challenges in life.
It is this perseverance, responsibility, and humane approach that makes spring at the grassroots level even more meaningful, so that Tet (Lunar New Year) not only arrives for a moment but also remains through warm human connection.
To date, 100% of the local branches of the Association in the province have registered to directly sponsor or support orphaned children in their localities. As a result, nearly 560 orphaned children have received sponsorship with funding exceeding 5 billion VND, contributing to spreading the tradition of love, solidarity, and sharing of the nation, affirming the role of the Association in social welfare work and building national unity.
