Based on the complicated developments of African swine fever, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thai Nguyen has established 2 working groups with 19 groups and 72 civil servants to support localities in disease prevention and control.
Group 1 is in charge of the northern communes and wards, while Group 2 is in charge of the southern communes and wards of the province to support localities in fighting the epidemic. Specifically, the two working groups and groups are responsible for coordinating with the People's Committees of communes and wards to guide and direct the implementation of epidemic control; deploy measures to prevent, combat and control the epidemic from spreading widely, minimizing economic losses.
Every day, teams and groups report the epidemic situation to the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries, and at the same time advise the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Provincial People's Committee on epidemic prevention and control.
Along with the establishment of provincial working groups and teams to strengthen support for communes and wards in fighting the epidemic, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review the existing staff to mobilize and second officers with expertise in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine to work in communes and wards lacking officers.
Specifically, Thai Nguyen province has 92 communes and wards, of which 52 communes and wards have 80 civil servants, public employees and employees with professional qualifications in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine who are currently working at the Economic Department and the General Service Center; while 40 communes and wards lack staff with professional qualifications in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. On that basis, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thai Nguyen has selected and assigned 41 civil servants and public employees to work in these 40 communes and wards.
