More fun
Every evening, if the weather is favorable, the grounds of the Khuc Thua Du temple in Kien Phuc commune (Ninh Giang district) are filled with the lively chatter and laughter of the local volleyball club members. Since Kien Quoc commune merged with Hong Phuc commune to form Kien Phuc commune, the club has gained several new members from the villages of the former Hong Phuc commune. Inter-village volleyball teams from each village are also organized more frequently. With more members and regular training, the commune's volleyball team is stronger than before.
Mr. Tran Van Nam, a member of the Cuc Bo village volleyball team, shared: "Along with organizing exchanges between villages in the commune, we also gather our team to exchange with some neighboring communes. Previously, being from different communes, people were still hesitant, but now that we're in the same commune, everyone is on equal footing, and there's no longer any shyness in communication or training."
Since Thach Loi commune merged into Cam Giang town (Cam Giang district), many community activities and movements in the locality have flourished. Held in mid-March, this year's Thach Loi Temple Festival had many new features compared to previous years. Thanks to the participation of many arts and sports clubs from residential areas and villages in the former Cam Giang town, the festival activities were richer and more vibrant. While previously the festival was "exclusive" to Thach Loi commune, it is now "shared" with Cam Giang town. Although the main festival day didn't fall on a Sunday, a large number of people from the surrounding villages and hamlets gathered to participate and enjoy the festivities.
"Thanks to the joint efforts of the Party Committee, the government, mass organizations, and the participation of a large number of people, this year's Thach Loi Temple Festival is more joyful and exciting. Many people have commented that the ceremonial and festive parts are of higher quality," said Mr. Vu Le Vy, Head of the Festival's Organizing Committee.

Many movements flourished.
According to Mr. Do Minh Nam, Secretary of the Youth Union of Gia Phuc commune (Gia Loc district), after the merger of Gia Tan and Gia Khanh communes into Gia Phuc commune, the Youth Union's activities in the new commune have become much more favorable.
The number of youth union branches has increased, and more members are participating in activities organized by the Youth Union. In particular, the merger of the two communes has facilitated interaction and exchange of experiences among officials and members, promoting successful models and innovative approaches in the new unit. A prime example is the fundraising campaign during the Lunar New Year of the Snake (2015). Members of the commune sold over 1,000 lucky money envelopes. The proceeds were used by the Youth Union in collaboration with schools to provide 15 Tet gifts to underprivileged students. During Youth Month, the Gia Phuc commune Youth Union organized a large-scale, well-organized youth football tournament, creating a beneficial recreational activity and strengthening solidarity among officials, civil servants, and units within the commune.
"Promoting unity during the commune merger creates favorable conditions for the commune's Youth Union to carry out activities on a larger scale, attracting more members to participate and strengthening the organization's collective power," Nam shared.

These days, local organizations in Ky Son commune (Tu Ky district) are actively promoting and mobilizing support for land clearance to implement the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction project and the upgrading project of Provincial Road 391. One family in the commune, eligible for housing assistance, is also receiving active support from local organizations to expedite the process and is nearing completion.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Sang, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Son commune, said: "After more than 4 months since the merger of the two communes of Tai Son and Ngoc Ky, all activities of local organizations have been unified, without any distinction between the old and new communes. Cadres, Party members, and people are all stable in their thinking, united, and working together for the common good."
New communes, new momentum. Visiting many other newly merged localities in Hai Duong, we felt that officials, Party members, and the people clearly understood the benefits of the policy of reorganizing commune-level administrative units. Everyone was also ready to unite, showing high consensus, and proactively adapting to the changes as communes, wards, and towns continued to be reorganized to further develop their homeland.
