Not only serving as an intellectual tournament, this year's event brings many innovations in recognition, competition format and creative activities, promising to bring chess closer to the young generation.
On August 27, the Vietnam Chess Federation, in collaboration with Vie-X Media & Entertainment Company Limited, Thieu Nien Tien Phong & Nhi Dong Newspaper, and Vietnam Digital Content Creation Alliance (DCCA), announced season 2 of the "Child Prodigy Chess" tournament.
With the message "Child prodigy of Chinese Chess - Splitting mountains and rivers - Unifying the world", this year's tournament aims to rejuvenate the traditional sport, creating a modern, attractive and inspiring playground.
Creative images bring a new look to the Tournament season 2, helping to inspire and attract young players.
In which, the chessboard "Rach doi son ha" recreates the Trinh - Nguyen conflict period, both unique and educational , bringing Vietnamese history into each chess position and is officially used in the Tournament for players.
The official identity is inspired by the image of the Wind Palace and the prayer wheel symbol, evoking wisdom, patience and perseverance.
Mascot Pearl, a descendant of the Dragon with a cheerful and friendly image, is designed to become an ambassador to accompany young players, bringing a fresh and friendly experience.
Along with the main matches, the tournament also organizes a series of attractive accompanying activities: the program "Learning Chess for Fun" for beginners; the workshop series "Playing with Grandmasters" from September 22 to October 22, 2025 with the participation of famous players, including the Prodigies of season 1.
The qualifying rounds will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (November 8-16, 2025) with the model of Chess and Culture Festival, promising to bring lots of joy and memorable experiences to young players, their families and friends with exciting activities of impersonation, exchange, and mini games.
The national finals will be held at Ton Duc Thang Museum, Ho Chi Minh City on December 6-7, 2025. The prize for the Champion is 30 million VND, along with a Cup and certificate from the Vietnam Chess Federation.
The second prize is worth 10 million VND, the third prize is 5 million VND, the fourth prize is 3 million VND. In addition, players also have the opportunity to receive attractive gifts and scholarships from sponsors, contributing to creating motivation to continue practicing, nurturing passion and developing talent.
With the combination of tradition and creativity, "Child Chess Prodigy 2025" promises to become a vibrant intellectual and cultural festival, spreading a new spirit for chess in the young community.
