To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Region 4, Cai Khe Ward, Can Tho City, in coordination with the Can Tho Student Union - Nam Can Tho University, organized the Journey to the Source "Heritage Road".
The program creates conditions for union members and young people to visit, learn and experience national relics located in Binh Thuy ward.
On the cultural and historical map of Can Tho , Binh Thuy is considered a land of "spiritual and talented people", preserving many unique values of the ancient South.
Along the roads of Cach Mang Thang 8, Le Hong Phong and Bui Huu Nghia is a "string of precious pearls" including many national relics: Hoi Linh Co Tu, the historical and cultural relic site of the tomb of the First Prize Winner Bui Huu Nghia, Nam Nha Duong, Binh Thuy Communal House, the relic of the Special Committee of the An Nam Communist Party of Hau Giang and Binh Thuy Ancient House.
These destinations are connected into a seamless journey, convenient for visitors to explore. In just a short trip, you can experience ancient architectural works, sacred temples and pagodas to revolutionary red addresses, like a living history book in the heart of Can Tho City.
“Heritage Road” not only carries the value of a unique cultural tourism product, but is also a journey back to the roots, arousing national pride and fostering love for the homeland in today's young generation.
Mr. Hoang Huyen - Secretary of the Youth Union of Area 4, Cai Khe Ward said: "The activity has the meaning of "a journey back to the source", helping the young generation review the tradition of steadfast struggle of their ancestors, honor the merits of their predecessors, and foster national pride.
Through learning about historical and cultural relics, the program contributes to educating revolutionary ideals, nurturing patriotism, and arousing a sense of responsibility for building and defending the Fatherland among union members and young people.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity to strengthen community connections and solidarity among young people; contributing to promoting the image of Can Tho - a land rich in tradition, aiming to develop cultural tourism, affirming heritage values on the national tourism map".
Sharing after participating in the program, Le My Duyen - a student of Nam Can Tho University expressed: "This is truly a meaningful journey, helping us understand more deeply about historical and cultural relics right in our homeland such as Hoi Linh Co Tu, Memorial Area of Valedictorian Bui Huu Nghia, Nam Nha Duong, Binh Thuy Communal House,...
Each location left many emotions and valuable lessons. We are more proud of the tradition of steadfast struggle of our ancestors, and appreciate the beauty of culture and architecture that our ancestors preserved.
Through the trip, we love our homeland more and more, and are more aware of our responsibility to study and practice to be worthy of the previous generation. This is also the motivation for us young people to continue to contribute and build Can Tho City to be more civilized and beautiful."
The "Heritage Road" journey helps union members and young people deeply understand the cultural and historical values of their homeland, while affirming the pioneering role of youth in preserving and promoting heritage.
When young people become a bridge to bring traditional values closer to the community, heritage will be present in life, becoming an important resource for developing cultural tourism and building the image of Can Tho City as a dynamic city with strong identity in the midst of modern life.
