Vietnamese Martial Arts returns

At 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (May 17), the famous professional MMA event series Gods of Martial Arts (GMA) - Than Vo will officially start at GMA Arena (Phuoc Kien, Nha Be).

GMA 2025 will be the opening point for a series of 8 major events this year, including 4 Vietnamese Martial Arts tournaments and 4 International Martial Arts tournaments, gathering the most elite warriors from Vietnam and countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia... creating a top-notch playground, full of confrontation and cultural identity.

Sharing before the tournament officially took place, martial artist Johnny Tri Nguyen - General Director of Than Vo Viet Nam, said that witnessing the difficulties that martial artists encounter when approaching a complex and time-consuming sport like MMA, Gods of Martial Arts continued to innovate by adding a new weight class called Duong Lang for 53kg fighters.

Accordingly, in parallel with broadcasting live matches, this year's Than Vo will continue to deploy special programs revolving around the tournament's activities such as match highlights, fighter portraits, exclusive interviews, etc., which will also be released on many social networking platforms... thereby creating more influence to spread the love of martial arts to Vietnamese audiences as well as being a bridge to bring the image of Than Vo to domestic and international audiences.

Continuing the success of Than Vo Vietnam 2024 by finding 5 champions, representing 5 weight classes: Nguyen Hoang Thach (Black Panther); Bui Truong Sinh (Golden Rooster); Mui Trong Vinh (Eagle); Nguyen Vu Phuong Hoai (Black Panther) and Ha The Anh (Ferocious Tiger).

Pairs competing in the first event of GMA 2025

The first event of 2025 taking place tomorrow will bring fans to witness the competition of 9 top pairs, promising to bring an exciting and dramatic atmosphere.

The highlight of this competition night is certainly the performance of two veteran boxers with a very ornate fighting style: Tran Minh Nhut of Lien Phong Martial Arts School and Tran Trong Kim of PFC Phu Quoc.

In the Duong Lang (53kg) category, 8 fighters will enter a tense battle, notably the match between World Muay Champion Le Hoang Duc (team 404) and Luong Trong Nghia (MMA Saigon). Other pairs include: Truong Quang Kiet with Huynh Quang Thien, Nguyen Huu Nghia with Bui Xuan Nguyen, and Dang Quoc Quang with Phan Ngoc Hieu.

In the remaining weight classes: Cobra (55kg): Pham Thanh Phong vs. Pham Van Hao Black Leopard (63kg): Vo Cao Tung vs. Pham Kim Quoc Huy Golden Rooster (57kg): Ly Duol vs. Kpa Thuan Manh Ho (68kg): Vu Hai rematches Pham Anh Duc.
