Highlight Ukraine 0-3 Romania
Romania were not highly rated before the match against Ukraine in Group E of Euro 2024 at the Allianz Arena (Munich, Germany). However, the performance of this team surprised everyone.
Romania was willing to concede the game and play defensively against Ukraine. Spirit was the strongest weapon of coach Edward Iordanescu and his team. They stopped all of Ukraine's attacks.

Ukraine did not have a single shot on target in the first half. Meanwhile, Romania took advantage of goalkeeper Lunin's mistake to open the scoring in the 28th minute. Nicolae Stanciu opened the scoring with a superb long-range shot into the Ukrainian net.
In the second half, Ukraine continued to attack diligently but ineffectively. Meanwhile, Romania was too sharp. In the 53rd minute, from Romania's counter-attack, the ball bounced to Răzvan Marin at a distance of nearly 30m. This player fired a cannon shot into the Ukrainian net.

Not stopping there, in the 56th minute, Dennis Man had a pass like a set piece for Denis Dragus to tap the ball in close to the goal, raising the score to 3-0 for Romania.
At this point, Ukraine had nothing to lose. Even though coach Serhiy Rebrov put veteran players like Roman Yaremchuk and Andriy Yarmolenko on the field, they could not break through Romania's net.
The match ended 3-0 in favor of Romania. They have a great chance of advancing.
Romanian football has not been highly regarded in recent years, as the last major tournament they participated in was Euro 2016. However, in the continent's biggest tournament in France, Romania stopped right from the group stage.
Ukraine has qualified for the Euro for the third consecutive time. At Euro 2024, after being lucky to get through the group stage, the Eastern European representative excellently defeated Sweden in the round of 16 before falling 0-4 to England in the quarterfinals.
Ukraine and Romania's paths to Germany were not the same. Romania performed well in qualifying and qualified from a group with Switzerland. Ukraine had a tougher time and had to beat Iceland in a play-off to secure a place at Euro 2024.
In a group with a very strong Belgium team and a difficult Slovakia, both Romania and Ukraine know that victory in tonight's direct confrontation is important. If they lose, either team will face the risk of being eliminated.
Both teams have had different preparations ahead of Euro 2024. Ukraine won 4-0 against Moldova. Romania left many worries, having scored just one goal in three friendlies against Northern Ireland, Bulgaria and Liechtenstein.
Romania are underdogs, but they are still an unknown quantity in this year's tournament. Under the guidance of coach Edward Iordanescu, Romania brings beautiful and spontaneous attacking play.
Ukraine struggled to qualify for Euro 2024 and lost 8 of their last 11 matches. However, Serhiy Rebrov's team has always been resilient in big matches and has a lot of experience in the Euro arena.
Romania has good news regarding their squad as Denis Alibec, George Puscas and Denis Dragus have recovered from their injuries and are ready to play. In goal, Nita is likely to replace the injured Horatiu Moldovan.
On the Ukrainian side, apart from the absence of Vitaliy Mykolenko, they will have all the most important players such as Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mykhailo Mudryk, Viktor Tsygankov. Striker Andriy Yarmolenko receives the greatest expectations from coach Serhiy Rebrov in the goal of defeating Romania.
The strength of the two teams is considered quite balanced, however, considering experience in the top playground, Ukraine is likely to have a close victory over Romania to have a smooth start at Euro 2024.
