The final match was incredibly intense. Tran Duc Minh got off to an impressive start, consistently leading and pulling far ahead of Kim Jun Tae. At one point, Tran Duc Minh even led 44-24 (the player who reaches 50 points wins the match).

However, due to his significant lead, the Vietnamese player became somewhat complacent. Furthermore, his lack of experience in major international tournaments caused Tran Duc Minh to lose focus in the final stages of the final match. This gave Kim Jun Tae the opportunity to overtake him. In the following shots, the Korean player scored 22 points, while Tran Duc Minh only managed one. He also became the second Vietnamese to win the 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup in Ho Chi Minh City, after Tran Quyet Chien a few years ago. Following the Ho Chi Minh City World Cup, the 2024 3-cushion carom billiards World Championship will take place in Binh Thuan in September. The reigning world champion is also a Vietnamese: Bao Phuong Vinh.
