Convincing victory over Lebanon, Vietnam futsal team wins ticket to 2026 Asian Finals

On the afternoon of September 24, the Vietnamese futsal team completed the qualifying round of Group E of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship with an impressive 4-0 victory over Lebanon. This result helped coach Diego Giustozzi and his team win all 9 absolute points after 3 matches, officially winning a ticket to the Final Round with the top position in the group.

Although only needing a draw to advance, the Vietnamese futsal team still entered the match with an active attacking spirit and determination to win. Right from the first minutes, coach Giustozzi’s players deployed a close-quarters style of play, constantly putting pressure on the Lebanese defense – a team whose physical strength is not a strong point.

The constant pressure made the opposing defense constantly confused, forcing goalkeeper Karim Joeuidi to work hard after dangerous shots from Minh Quang and Gia Hung. However, in the 9th minute, the match situation officially changed when Manh Dung successfully intercepted the ball, creating a pass for Da Hai to open the score for the red team.

Less than a minute later, it was Cong Vien's turn to pass back to Manh Dung to shoot a low, dangerous shot, raising the score to 2-0. Not stopping there, in the 10th minute, Ngoc Anh continued to play aggressively, snatching the ball from the opponent's feet and passing it to Minh Quang to score, putting the Vietnamese futsal team leading 3-0 after only the first 10 minutes of play.

Despite missing a few more chances in the rest of the first half, coach Giustozzi's team still completely controlled the game. In the second half, the advantage continued to lean towards the Vietnamese team when Lebanon's Hassan Alame received a direct red card in the 24th minute. Just 15 seconds after the situation of playing with one more player, Ngoc Anh took advantage of the opportunity to score the goal to make it 4-0.

In the remaining minutes of the match, the Lebanese futsal team was almost powerless to organize attacks, unable to create any significant pressure on goalkeeper Van Tu's goal.

With a convincing victory, the Vietnamese futsal team finished the qualifying round of Group E with a perfect record, scoring 13 goals and conceding no goals.

A ticket to the 2026 Asian Futsal Finals in Indonesia (taking place from January 27 to February 7, 2026) is a worthy reward for the efforts and serious preparation of coach Giustozzi and his team.
