Attending the commemoration ceremony were: Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Association, Director of the Vietnam Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims Fund; Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province; Colonel Vu Manh Quynh, Deputy Commander of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command. Also present were representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, leaders of local departments and agencies, and nearly 100 victims representing more than 11,500 Agent Orange/Dioxin victims in the province.

Over the past 20 years of establishment and development, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Thanh Hoa province has gradually affirmed its role as a source of spiritual and material support for victims of Agent Orange in the province.

Understanding the pain and hardships endured by victims of Agent Orange, the provincial-level associations have actively advised local Party committees and authorities; closely coordinated with agencies, organizations, and philanthropists to effectively implement many activities to care for and support the victims. Over the past 20 years, the Association has mobilized organizations, individuals, and philanthropists inside and outside the province to contribute more than 103.6 billion VND to the Fund for the Support of Agent Orange Victims from the War in Vietnam in Thanh Hoa province.

From the funds raised, the associations at all levels have supported the construction and repair of houses for 730 victim families with a total cost of nearly 14 billion VND. To date, there are no longer any families of Agent Orange victims in the province who are directly classified as poor and living in dilapidated, leaky houses. In addition, the associations at all levels have organized visits and gift-giving during holidays, Tet, and the War Invalids and Martyrs Day with a total value of nearly 85 billion VND; donated more than 1,700 wheelchairs and mobility aids to polio victims; and provided free medical examinations and medicine to more than 11,000 people…

These practical actions have contributed to alleviating the pain of war, providing motivation for many victim families to overcome difficulties and rise up in life. At the same time, the associations at all levels have actively participated in the struggle for justice for victims of Agent Orange, promoting patriotic emulation movements and social welfare activities in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung and Comrade Dau Thanh Tung acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels in Thanh Hoa province over the past period; and expressed deep gratitude to the organizations, individuals, and philanthropists who have accompanied the work of caring for and supporting victims of Agent Orange for the past two decades.

The leaders of the Central Committee of the Association and the leaders of Thanh Hoa province requested that in the coming time, Party committees, governments, agencies, and units at all levels continue to pay attention to and uphold the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," and better care for victims of Agent Orange. The Association at all levels needs to continue to innovate the content and methods of its activities; closely monitor each specific circumstance to provide practical and effective support solutions; and at the same time, promote the mobilization of social resources to accompany victims in their journey to overcome difficulties and build better lives.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin donated 50 million VND to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Fund for Supporting Victims of Agent Orange. Many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's work during the period 2006-2026 were commended and rewarded.
On this occasion, Thanh Hoa Power Construction Joint Stock Company also donated 250 gift packages worth 100 million VND to victims of Agent Orange in the province.
