Thanh Hoa welcomes more than 600 thousand visitors during Tet holiday

Spiritual areas and sites in Thanh Hoa attract many people and tourists to make pilgrimages and worship.

On February 15, news from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province said that during the 7-day Lunar New Year holiday (from December 29 to January 5), the whole province welcomed 635,000 visitors, an increase of 48.7% over the same period of the 2023 Lunar New Year.

During this Tet holiday, cultural, sports and tourism activities in all localities in Thanh Hoa take place enthusiastically, attracting a large number of tourists from within and outside the province.

In particular, many international tourist groups have chosen a number of beach resorts and community eco-tourism areas to welcome the New Year and experience traditional Tet culture.

Many locations recorded a high increase in the number of visitors such as: Thanh Hoa city welcomed 100,000 visitors; Lam Kinh historical relic site (Tho Xuan district) welcomed about 40,000 visitors; Cua Dat scenic spot (Thuong Xuan district) welcomed about 90,000 visitors; Phu Na scenic spot (Nhu Thanh district) welcomed about 91,000 visitors; Sam Son city welcomed about 65,000 visitors; Song temple (Bim Son town) had about 40,000 visitors; Pu Luong tourist area (Ba Thuoc district) welcomed about 4,000 visitors; Ho Dynasty Citadel heritage site (Vinh Loc district) welcomed about 4,500 visitors...

This year, the Lunar New Year holiday lasted 7 days, combined with favorable weather, so the number of visitors to tourist areas and spots increased, bringing about 588 billion VND from tourism to Thanh Hoa, an increase of 51.2% over the same period last year.
