Establish 4 regional river basin committees.

The Prime Minister has just issued decisions establishing four regional river basin committees: Northern Vietnam, North Central Vietnam, South Central Vietnam, and Southeastern Vietnam.

According to the following decisions: Decision No. 2756/QD-TTg on the establishment of the River Basin Committee for the Northern Region; Decision No. 2758/QD-TTg on the establishment of the River Basin Committee for the North Central Region; Decision No. 2759/QD-TTg on the establishment of the River Basin Committee for the South Central Region; Decision No. 2760/QD-TTg on the establishment of the River Basin Committee for the Southeast Region, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment is the Chairman of the four aforementioned Committees.

The Standing Vice-Chairman is the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment. The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and the Deputy Minister of Construction also serve as Vice-Chairmen.

The decisions state that the aforementioned Committees are inter-sectoral coordinating organizations that assist the Prime Minister in researching, directing, coordinating, and supervising activities related to the protection, regulation, and distribution of water resources; monitoring the exploitation, use, and protection of water resources; protecting the river basin environment; preventing, mitigating, and remedying water-related damage; and participating in and coordinating the resolution of inter-sectoral, inter-regional, and inter-local issues in inter-provincial river basins within their respective areas of responsibility.

Specifically, the Northern Region River Basin Committee is tasked with coordinating and supervising activities related to the protection, regulation, distribution, restoration, development, exploitation, and utilization of water resources, as well as preventing, mitigating, and remedying water-related damage in the Red River - Thai Binh River basin, the Bang Giang - Ky Cung River basin, and the coastal river basins of Quang Ninh province.

The North Central Region River Basin Committee is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities related to the protection, regulation, distribution, restoration, development, exploitation, and utilization of water resources, as well as preventing, mitigating, and remedying water-related damage in the Ma, Ca, and Huong river basins and other river basins, including the Tong, Yen, Lach Bang, Gianh, and O Lau rivers.

The South Central Region River Basin Committee is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities related to the protection, regulation, distribution, restoration, development, exploitation, and utilization of water resources, as well as preventing, mitigating, and remedying water-related damage in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon, Tra Khuc, Ba, Kon - Ha Thanh river basins and other river basins including: Lai Giang river, Ky Lo river, Cai Ninh Hoa river, Cai Nha Trang river, and Cai Phan Rang river.

The Southeast Region River Basin Committee is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities related to the protection, regulation, distribution, restoration, development, exploitation, and utilization of water resources, as well as preventing, mitigating, and remedying water-related damage in the Dong Nai River basin and other river basins including the Dinh River, Du Du River, and Ray River...
