Present at the construction site of the Dong Phong Secondary School Multi-purpose Building project in Lai Chau city, we felt the urgent and hurried working atmosphere. Despite the erratic weather, dozens of workers of Cat Dien Development Joint Stock Company (Tan Phong ward, Lai Chau city) are focusing on the construction of the first floor roof beams. The company also increased the number of workers, working continuously to rush to complete the second floor beams. It is known that the project with a total investment of 4.8 billion VND was started in early March 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The capital for basic construction is concentrated. Up to this point, the project has completed over 80% of the workload.

Dong Phong Secondary School Multi-purpose Building Project includes a level III, 1-storey building, area 750m2, usable area 636m2. The project implementation aims to strengthen facilities, improveeducation quality to ensure facilities standards and criteria in the process of building a school that meets national education standards.
We learned that in 2025, the total capital for basic construction investment from the State budget for Lai Chau city is 71 billion 608 million VND, of which the capital plan assigned in 2025 is 59 billion 844 million VND, the capital transferred in 2024 is 11 billion 764 million VND. To speed up the construction progress of projects as well as ensure a high capital disbursement rate, Lai Chau City Project Management Board has implemented many solutions such as: coordinating with relevant units to speed up site clearance progress; directing professional teams to send staff to construction sites and projects to inspect, supervise and urge progress. Urging contractors to continue to speed up the construction progress of projects, especially projects expected to be completed in 2025 and ensuring safety of works during the rainy season; Complete the acceptance records of completed volume to recover advance capital and disburse the capital plan assigned in 2025.
Supervisors of Lai Chau City Project Management Board are regularly present at the construction site to ensure progress and quality.
Currently, the Board is requesting the City People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to urgently submit and approve compensation, support and resettlement plans for households in the project of the Road and urban area connecting the new Doan Ket Ward People's Committee headquarters to Road No. 17, Quyet Thang Ward. In addition, the Board regularly sends technical staff to the construction site to urge, guide, inspect and supervise contractors to ensure technical and aesthetic quality. Strengthen the quality management of ongoing projects; resolutely handle contractors who are behind schedule.
