Although they belong to two different generations, Thanh Tuan and Kim Tu Long are both beloved leading actors. Among them, the role of Trong Thuy holds many fond memories in their artistic careers.

Kim Tu Long transforms into Trong Thuy in a massively invested Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) production.

The clip that artist Kim Tu Long shared was from a fan page of his adoring fans. It shows Trong Thuy (played by Kim Tu Long) being angrily punished by Trieu Da for loving My Chau and opposing the invasion, wanting to remain faithful to his beloved in the play " The Swan's Dress ".

Kim Tu Long has such vivid memories of this role and this play because it is a very special Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) performance in the theater scene of Ho Chi Minh City.

The play was produced by the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station and premiered in early 2008.

Based on a script by author Le Duy Hanh (adapted into Cai Luong by Hoang Song Viet), and directed by Hoa Ha, " The Swan's Dress" is considered a spectacular Cai Luong performance with an investment of approximately 2.7 billion VND.

A total of approximately 400 artists, including singers, dancers, and circus performers, participated. In the play, Kim Tu Long played the role of Trong Thuy alongside Thoai My and Tu Suong.

The images in the clip, reposted nearly 20 years ago, not only evoke fond memories of Kim Tu Long's role as Trong Thuy, but also bring tears to the audience's eyes as they see veteran Thanh Tong in the role of Trieu Da.

At that time, he was still healthy and performed strenuous dance routines with Kim Tu Long and his granddaughter Trinh Trinh (playing the role of Hoang Dung).

At this time, Kim Tu Long and Trinh Trinh were not yet a couple. They were still just co-actors. Hoang Dung was also a memorable role in the play, making the audience sympathize with the girl who suffered because of love.

After the 2008 production, The Swan's Dress was scaled down by the Tran Huu Trang Theatre and performed at the Hung Dao Theatre. Kim Tu Long still played Trong Thuy alongside Thoai My and Tu Suong. The role of Hoang Dung was played by Que Tran, while Trieu Da was portrayed by artist Cong Minh (younger brother of artist Thanh Tong).

Thanh Tuan sings the love story of Trong Thuy and My Chau.

Coincidentally, artist Thanh Tuan recently posted a clip of himself singing the traditional folk song " The Love Story of Trong Thuy and My Chau" with his students.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Thanh Tuan said that this traditional song was originally written by Thanh Trieu, but he has now revised the lyrics, added the " Phoenix" part , and filmed a video of them singing together with his student whom he is currently training.

Watching the clip reminded viewers of the play My Chau - Trong Thuy that Thanh Tuan recorded with artist Le Thuy more than forty years ago, which was very popular with audiences.

In this play, Thanh Tuan played Trong Thuy, while Le Thuy played My Chau. Thanh Tuan recounted that at the time, he and Le Thuy were around 40 years old, the prime age for their profession.

They recorded many Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) videos and audio tapes. The duo Thanh Tuan and Le Thuy also left a deep impression on the audience.

Besides Thanh Tuan and Le Thuy, the play also features many golden-generation Cai Luong artists such as Ut Bach Lan, Thanh Sang, Phuong Quang, Thoai Mieu, Buu Truyen, Bao Quoc…
