Removing difficulties in site clearance and resettlement for Ban Mong Reservoir project

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the afternoon of July 11, a working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, worked with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province on the progress of the Ban Mong Reservoir project, phase I, Nghe An province.

Implementing the Ban Mong Reservoir Project Phase 1, Nghe An Province, previously the People's Committee of Nhu Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province was assigned to be the investor of the compensation, support and resettlement component in the district. Now the Management Board of the Nhu Xuan Area Construction Investment Project has taken over the implementation of the remaining items of the component.

Up to now, the compensation and resettlement support plan for part of the destination has been approved for 34 households and individuals eligible for compensation and support, and Thanh Hoa Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. with a total cost of 19,605 billion VND.

Regarding the progress of construction of the resettlement area, because the destination area has not completed compensation and site clearance work to hand over to the construction unit, so far the construction of the resettlement area has not been carried out as planned.

Regarding the exploitation and recovery of forest products, on May 15, 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment approved the plan to utilize forest products. Currently, the investor is carrying out procedures to appraise the asset price, and is expected to complete the selection of the construction unit to exploit and recover forest products by August 30, 2025.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Cao Van Cuong and representatives of relevant sectors, People's Committees of Xuan Binh and Thanh Phong communes reported on the progress as well as difficulties and obstacles in site clearance, measurement, inventory, land recovery boundaries, forest product valuation, etc.

Representatives of units and localities hope that the working delegation will contribute ideas to support Thanh Hoa province in implementing items of the compensation, support and resettlement component of the project to ensure the set progress.

Request Thanh Hoa Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. to soon have a plan to liquidate assets on the land to hand over the site for the contractor to start construction.

For 107 households whose land is subject to land recovery and are currently producing on land of Thanh Hoa Rubber One Member Co., Ltd., because they do not have a contract with the company, there must be a solution to ensure the harmony of interests between the people and businesses according to regulations.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will work with localities to remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up site clearance at both destination and departure locations, ensuring project progress so that people can soon stabilize their lives.
