Thao Nguyen Ward was established on the basis of merging Thao Nguyen and Co Do wards. After the merger, the ward has a natural area of over 53 km2 . The terrain is mainly plateaus, interspersed with low hills and valleys, favorable for agricultural production, building farm models, farms, and ecological resorts. The climate is cool all year round, sub-temperate in nature, favorable for the development of temperate fruit trees, flowers, vegetables and medicinal plants, this is an important condition for building a specialized area for high-quality agricultural products.
To materialize the potential and advantages in the past term, the ward actively mobilized people to shift the economic structure, crops and livestock; apply scientific and technical advances in production, business, and intensive cultivation of crops; strongly promote production development, gradually expand the production area of vegetables, flowers and fruits with high quality and economic value. Along with that, create conditions for economic sectors to link with farming households to invest in production development, contributing to increasing the production value on cultivated land. Currently, the whole ward has 2,276 hectares of fruit trees, 515 hectares of tea, more than 400 hectares of vegetables; 24 cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector; 22 products meeting OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher...
Originating from a fruit tree production cooperative, with the aim of gathering and linking fruit tree growers in production and consumption, applying science and technology to production, improving productivity and product quality, aiming at clean, safe production and sustainable development, in December 2018, Moc Chau Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative, Thao Nguyen Ward was established with 9 members with an area of over 30 hectares growing fruit trees, such as: Plum, longan, crispy persimmon, citrus fruit trees... Along with the production of fruit trees in the right season, the Cooperative also conducts experimental planting of some late-ripening varieties, such as: Avocado, yellow-heart orange; testing early-ripening varieties for plum, green-skinned grapefruit, which are both easy to consume and have high prices. The Cooperative's products are available at Big C and Lotte supermarket systems in Hanoi and are trusted and chosen by many customers.

Grasping the needs of the market, in recent years, Quyet Thanh Agricultural Cooperative, Thao Nguyen Ward has focused on developing dried and soft-dried agricultural products with the main ingredients being fresh fruits of Moc Chau plateau, which are trusted and chosen by many customers. The Cooperative has invested in building a processing workshop with an area of over 200 m2 and installed 2 hot and cold drying processing lines; 1 product packaging machine and 2 cold storages to preserve products with an area of 24 m2 . Currently, the Cooperative processes 7 types of dried fruit products with an output of 80 tons of finished products/year; creating stable jobs for 10 local workers and many seasonal workers. The annual revenue of the Cooperative is from 4.5 to 5 billion VND.
Mr. Pham Van Quyet, Director of Quyet Thanh Agricultural Cooperative, informed: Implementing the One Commune One Product Program, the Cooperative now has 6 OCOP products, including 4 4-star products (dried plum, dried banana, dried persimmon, dried mango) and 2 3-star products (dried papaya, passion fruit juice). Promote the development of high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture in a green and sustainable direction. Strengthen the construction of production and consumption chains of safe agricultural products according to the value chain. Promote the construction, maintenance and development of brands to increase production value and income for farmers and businesses.
Continue to promote brand building, promotion and consumption of high-quality, typical agricultural products (tea, milk, fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc.) and OCOP products with the "Moc Chau" brand to create competitive advantages in the domestic and export markets. Strengthen quality management, food safety and standardization of key products, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, promoting export activities. Strengthen inspection and supervision of the production - processing - consumption chain; support the construction and maintenance of quality certification systems, traceability, growing area codes, and geographical indications.
