This collaborative project aims to reduce carbon emissions in the Bach Hoa Xanh chain of stores, helping both businesses gradually achieve their sustainable development goals. It also demonstrates the seriousness and strong commitment of leading retailer The Gioi Dien Dong in promoting green growth and contributing to Vietnam's Net-Zero goal (reducing greenhouse gas emissions to near zero) by 2050.
Accordingly, the parties will install a solar power system combined with the treatment and recycling of organic waste. Specifically, CAS Energy will collect organic waste at Bach Hoa Xanh stores and process it into organic nutrients for agriculture. Initially, the project will be implemented at 50 Bach Hoa Xanh stores in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, and is expected to expand to the entire chain with more than 1,700 stores in the future.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan, Director of the Institute for Research and Development of Circular Economy, stated: “This collaborative project on green economy and circular economy is a significant step forward in promoting sustainable development and minimizing negative environmental impacts for both businesses and in Vietnam. We hope this project will contribute to raising awareness and action among the business community and the public regarding the environment, renewable energy, effective waste management, and increased resource efficiency.”
