The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will host the Olympism365 Summit from June 3 to 5 at IOC headquarters in Lausanne. More than 250 representatives from 100 organizations within the global Olympic movement, the United Nations, and other organizations will come together to promote the UN's sustainable development goals through sport at this event.

Safe sports were a central focus of the International Olympic Committee Summit.
With the opening theme being 'Sport for a Better World ', safe sports will be a central topic on the agenda, and delegates will discuss ways to end violence and support mental health and well-being at both professional and elite levels.
"The International Olympic Committee recognizes the complex challenges surrounding interpersonal violence, mental health and well-being, issues that directly impact the health of athletes, individuals and communities. We believe that, as part of society, sport can be a powerful agent in addressing these issues. But first and foremost, sport itself must be safe, and we are working hard to lead that change," said Kirsty Burrows, Deputy Director of Medical , Medicine and Science at the International Olympic Committee.
The International Olympic Committee has been a leader in developing safe sports policies, including supporting international federations and national Olympic committees in protecting athletes from harassment and abuse, developing protection networks, and establishing safe sports units, which have further developed comprehensive action plans on mental health.
In addition, the International Olympic Committee's Working Group on Preventing Harassment and Abuse in Sport, headed by Prince Feisal Al Hussein, now provides a number of tools and services for athletes. Just last summer, Olympic athletes at the Paris Summer Olympics benefited from the most comprehensive mental health and protection package ever seen at an Olympic sporting event, including a new AI-powered cyber abuse protection service.
Just a few years after these initiatives were launched, many international federations incorporated protective measures into their organizations, and the Safe Sports Centre initiative was introduced to further provide access in several regions around the globe.
"It's positive to see the progress being made, demonstrating that a holistic approach to protection is increasingly being incorporated as a core responsibility within the Olympic movement. But protection is an ongoing journey. We will continue to work in parallel with stakeholders at the International Federations and the Olympic movement to strengthen measures to ensure that athletes everywhere feel safe, respected, and supported. We will also facilitate the strengthening of these measures through the Safe Sport Centre initiative," Deputy Director Kirsty Burrows affirmed.
To effectively support stakeholders within the Olympic Movement in their efforts to protect their mental health and well-being, new safe sports tools are expected to be presented and discussed in co-creation workshops at the Summit. These tools include the International Safe Sports Framework, the International Classification and Response Framework, a Mental Health Awareness Course, and a Protective Focus Point Instructor Training Course. The tools are designed to support early identification of concerns and interventions, forms of care, appropriate local responses, and the harmonization of international standards.
The Olympism365 summit will also include a youth summit and the Global Champion Awards ceremony for gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.
