The sport that women in Nam Can commune love is soft volleyball. This sport not only allows them to satisfy their passion for sports , but also provides many opportunities for interaction, sports events, and participation in tournaments both within and outside the province.
Recently, the Women's Union of Nam Can commune organized a women's volleyball tournament to raise funds for scholarships for poor and disadvantaged students in the commune at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. This activity also served as an achievement to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party. Eight teams, with 80 athletes from hamlet branches, schools, departments, and associations, groups, and clubs in the commune, participated in the event. Through this, the Women's Union of Nam Can commune mobilized and connected with benefactors, philanthropists, and women to raise over 36 million VND.
"In addition to the above amount, the Women's Union of Nam Can commune has also mobilized 500 notebooks and 5 bicycles. We will continue to receive money and gifts until the opening day of the new school year, at which point we will compile and distribute them to schools and hamlet/neighborhood branches. Through this, we hope to support a portion of the costs, school supplies, and health insurance for disadvantaged students so they can continue their education," shared Ms. Huynh Thi My, President of the Women's Union of Nam Can commune.
The FC: 5 AM team from Nam Can commune played this match with the spirit of camaraderie, health training, and for the sake of their beloved younger teammates.
At the same time, the FC: 5h AM team of Nam Can commune organized an internal football tournament to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. With the spirit of "Playing football for the community - Helping children go to school ," the tournament raised over 35 million VND from participating athletes, along with enthusiastic support from companies, businesses, and production and trading establishments inside and outside the commune.
Doan Quoc Tien, captain of the FC: 5h AM team in Nam Can commune, excitedly said: "This is the first time the team has organized such a meaningful tournament. Through our connections, the team members have spread the spirit of volunteerism to raise funds. This money will be used to support disadvantaged students at Hang Vinh Secondary School (Nam Can commune) at the beginning of the new school year."
Nguyen Dinh Truong, from the FC: 5h AM team in Nam Can commune, shared: "I am very excited to participate in this meaningful football tournament. It not only helps us improve our physical fitness and have fun, but also contributes to making it easier for children to go to school. My teammates and I hope to participate in many more similar football tournaments."
