Four more virtual filterings, many universities postpone the announcement of 2025 benchmark scores

The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent a document to universities regarding adjustments to the 2025 virtual admission and screening plan.

Accordingly, instead of filtering 6 times as originally planned, the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system will increase to 10 times, ending at 12:30 on August 22. From 5:00 p.m. on August 22, schools will announce the first round of admission scores instead of 5:00 p.m. on August 20 as planned.

The Ministry of Education and Training said the reason for extending the virtual filtering time is because the number of candidates registering for university and college admission is higher, and it is also the first year that colleges participate in the admission process, there is no more early admission, and all admission methods used in the first round are used.

To ensure accurate and fair admission results, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that schools focus on and urgently review all data, admission methods, and situations in the context of using a lot of candidate data. Schools also need to carefully calculate the plan and propose an appropriate virtual ratio to avoid a large number of virtual numbers, affecting the recruitment sources of other schools, as well as enrolling students beyond the school's quota and training capacity.

Previously, according to the plan, the virtual filtering process would end at 4:30 p.m. on August 20. At 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results.

Some schools are expected to announce the admission scores for the 2025 regular university program at the end of this afternoon, August 20, such as: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Transport Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology; University of Economics and Law, University of Science and Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, University of Electricity, CMC University; Hong Bang International University.

After knowing the admission score, all admitted candidates (including direct admission candidates) must confirm their enrollment on the system (if they wish to study) before 5:00 p.m. on August 30.

From September 1 to December, candidates who need to apply for additional admission rounds of the training institution, follow the admission information posted on the training institution's admission information page.

According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, by the time the university entrance exam registration portal closed in 2025, nearly 850,000 candidates had entered their wishes into the system, an increase of more than 115,000 compared to last year (due to candidates registering for vocational colleges). In total, there were about 7.6 million wishes registered for university and college admission in 2025. On average, a candidate registered nearly 9 wishes.
Thus, more than 310,000 candidates gave up the opportunity to enter university and college this year, equivalent to 26.7% of the total 1.16 million candidates.
