More Vietnamese universities cooperate with Germany's Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation

On May 29, Saigon University in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations held a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the University's Institute for Socio-Economic Research (RISE) and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation (KAS/Federal Republic of Germany).

According to the signed content, the two sides will cooperate in the following areas: research and strategic and policy consulting; training and capacity development; knowledge transfer and academic dialogue in the fields of socio -economic development, institutions, digital transformation and building a modern governance system. In addition, the cooperation also aims to create internship and employment opportunities for students; organize seminars and talks to improve the skills of lecturers, students and workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Viet Ha, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, highly appreciated the role and experience of KAS in cooperation programs in Vietnam. He said that this organization has worked effectively with many agencies and units such as the National Academy of Politics , National Economics University, Central Economic Committee, etc. The cooperation with RISE Institute is a meaningful step, focusing on key areas such as digital transformation, innovation and sustainable development strategy consulting.

Mr. Ha expects the agreement to contribute to the effective implementation of major orientations such as Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, as well as Resolution 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation.

Mr. Christopher Scholl, Deputy Consul General of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his desire to continue promoting connections between German organizations and major Vietnamese universities, not only through government channels but also with the support of academics and experts.

The agreement is expected to create a premise for joint initiatives in research, policy dialogue and digital transformation, thereby contributing to promoting economic development and innovation in Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The RISE Institute was established in early 2025, with former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong as Chairman of the Scientific Council. The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) is a political organization under the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) - the party of former Chancellor Angela Merkel and current Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
