The B1 driving license test consists of 4 parts: theory, simulation, driving test, and road driving, specifically as follows:
1. How many points is required to pass the B1 theory test?
The B1 theory test consists of 30 questions including:
- 01 sentence about the concept;
- 01 question about serious traffic safety situations;
- 06 questions about traffic rules;
- 01 question about speed and distance;
- 01 question about traffic culture and driver ethics;
- 01 question about driving techniques;
- 01 question about repair structure;
- 09 questions about road sign system;
- 09 questions about solving traffic situations and skills to handle traffic situations.
The theory test time is 20 minutes with a total of 30 questions.
Each question in the test has from 02 to 04 answers and only 01 answer is correct; among the questions, there is 01 failing point. If the candidate answers incorrectly, he/she will be disqualified from the test. For the remaining questions, each question is worth 01 point.
When the test is completed or the time limit is up, all candidate answers (including unanswered questions) are automatically scored and saved on the server.
Candidates who answer 26/30 questions correctly or more and do not miss any failing questions will be considered to have passed the theory test and will be allowed to take the simulation test.

2. How many points is required to pass the B1 simulation test?
Candidates must solve simulated traffic situations that appear on the computer. A test consists of 10 situations taken from a total of 120 questions in the simulated test set.
Candidates who score 35/50 points pass this test and can continue to the driving test.

3. How many points is required to pass the B1 driving test?
Candidates perform a series of 11 driving tests in the picture including:
- Test 1: Start;
- Test: Stop the car to give way to pedestrians;
- Test: Stopping and starting the car on a slope;
- Test: Through wheel tracks and perpendicular curves;
- Test: Through intersections with traffic signals;
- Test: Through the winding road;
- Test: Parallel parking;
- Test: Parallel parking;
- Test: Stop at a railway crossing;
- Test: Changing gears on a flat road;
- Test 11: Finished.
The B1 driving test time is 18 minutes.
Candidates must achieve at least 80/100 points to pass the driving test and practice driving on the road.

4. How many points is required to pass the B1 road driving test?
Candidates take the driving test on public roads, at least 02km long, with all situations as prescribed (the road section is selected by the Department of Transport after agreeing with the competent traffic management agency and registering with the Vietnam Road Administration);
Candidates must take at least 04 driving tests on the road, including:
- Test: Start;
- Test: Increase gears, increase speed;
- Test: Reduce gear, reduce speed;
- Test: End.
On the test route, the "increase gear, increase speed" and "decrease gear, decrease speed" tests can be performed multiple times, in no particular order.
The total score of this test is 100, candidates who get at least 80/100 points will pass this test.

Thus, after completing all 4 parts of the above exam, B1 driver's license candidates will be granted a B1 driver's license.
