VinUni University has just announced that Professor Ling San, former Permanent Vice President and Director of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, has officially joined VinUni as Permanent Vice President of the University Council from September 1. At VinUni, Professor Ling San helps the VinUni University Council in charge of two key areas: strategy building and talent development.
From September 1, Professor Ling San will become Permanent Vice President of the Board of Directors of VinUni University.

Professor Ling San is a famous mathematician, former Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Nanyang Technological University, and Chairman of the Scientific Council of Mathematics from April 2019 to June 2025.
From August 2022 to July 2024, Professor Ling will also serve as Chief Scientific Advisor to the National Research Foundation, Singapore. He is also a member of the Singapore Government Science Advisory Committee.
Professor Ling San has published nearly 260 scientific papers, ranging from combinatorial design, coding theory, cryptography to number sequences. He has been awarded many prestigious awards, including the Singapore National Science Award and the Singapore Public Service Medal.
Professor Ling San has held many senior leadership positions at NTU, most recently as Vice President and President of Nanyang Technological University (1.1.2020 - 25.6.2025). He is a leader who has contributed greatly to bringing Nanyang Technological University to a high position globally.
Explaining his decision to join VinUni, Professor Ling San said: "VinUni is a young, dynamic university with many great aspirations. Having been with Nanyang Technological University since 2005, I have directly witnessed the journey of a young university in Singapore to become one of the leading universities in the world .
Therefore, I am really impressed with VinUni's enthusiasm and determination in building the school into a world-class university, creating true value and bringing change to society. I believe that we will turn this aspiration into reality."
Recently, Vingroup's leaders decided to spend an additional VND9,300 billion on VinUni. This spending is not only for infrastructure development but also to invite 500 elite scientists from around the world to work at VinUni.
The list of invited candidates includes: 10 international scientific directors; 200 lecturers and researchers with prestigious publications; 200 postdoctoral scholars and 100 affiliated lecturers.
