C VICTORY OF CLASS
The journey to defend the SEA Games gold medal of the Vietnamese women's team has started smoothly when we achieved many goals at the same time in the big win over the Malaysian girls: 3 points, high goal difference to avoid the goal difference race with the two heavyweights in the group, Myanmar and the Philippines, successfully testing young talents and keeping key positions, not revealing their cards. Such a great arrangement and efficiency cannot be said to be anything other than the class of Coach Mai Duc Chung and the Vietnamese women's team.

As stated in the press conference, Coach Mai Duc Chung has put out a "mixed young and old" squad with only Bich Thuy, Hai Yen, Thanh Nha, Van Su, Thu Thuong remaining, the rest are names that rarely or have not appeared in a major tournament of the team such as goalkeeper Khong Thi Hang, Hai Linh, Truc Huong, Tran Thi Duyen, Nguyen Thi Hoa, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu; then Ngoc Minh Chuyen and Thuy Hang. This change has brought many interesting emotions, without losing strength, but on the contrary still creating harmony and cohesion.

Thai Thi Thao jumped high in the aerial battle. She was voted the best player of the match.

The "senior" players played with great effort, using their experience to inspire the next generation. The new faces in their twenties with strong running steps, neat ball handling, demonstrated their abilities well, playing with dedication. Thanks to that, the Vietnamese team's playing style was very proactive, creating an exciting start and a confident, coherent style of play. That is what made fans feel most secure and satisfied when witnessing the "debut" with great enthusiasm of the Vietnamese girls.
That strength and intense desire to win flowed through each player's legs, helping them dominate the game with goals coming quite early and easily. From the pillars like Hai Yen (2 times), Bich Thuy, or those who entered the field later like Thai Thi Thao (3 times) scored in turn, to young talent like Hai Linh also scored. Each position played smoothly and rhythmically with very soft and smooth arrangements, knocking out the opponent with extremely diverse moves, demonstrating the class of a team that is the defending champion in the region.
GOOD SIGNALS FROM YOUNG TALENTS
The important thing in this match is that we saw the maturity of young talents. Nguyen Thi Hoa in the role of right-back played very mobile, fast and smart, not inferior to Thanh Nha on the left wing. Or the brand new "crushing" center-back pair Cu Thi Huynh Nhu and Tran Thi Duyen were very hard-working, putting pressure on the opponent, not giving them space to coordinate. And Hai Linh in the role of central midfielder not only intercepted well, recovered the ball well but also went up to score himself.

Match schedule of Vietnam women's team
We also cannot fail to mention Truc Huong, who could not be present at the previous SEA Games but did a good job of attracting, creating breakthroughs and always launching sharp final passes. This necessary return in the first 45 minutes filled the "hole" at the right time to replace the role of senior Huynh Nhu, creating a very durable and dangerous trident with Hai Yen and Bich Thuy. All blended together to create a quality attacking line.
This resounding victory has temporarily helped the Vietnamese women's team top Group B, equal on points but with a better goal difference than Myanmar. At the same time, this is also a morale boost for the decisive match for the semi-final ticket, against the Philippines team at 6:30 p.m. on December 8. If they can win 3 points in this match, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will surely compete for the top spot with Myanmar in the final match.
Myanmar repeats victory over Philippines
At the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, the Myanmar women's team defeated the Philippines 1-0 in the first match. On the afternoon of December 5th at the 33rd SEA Games, that result was repeated when the girls, the current AFF Cup runner-up, defeated a team with a better stature and strength than them with a score of 2-1. Thus, the Myanmar women's team created an advantage in Group B in competing for a place in the semi-finals.
