On the evening of December 5, at the Chonburi Daikin Stadium (Chonburi Province, Thailand) in the match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Malaysian women's team, attention was focused on a group of Vietnamese fans. About 10 people wore red shirts with yellow stars, holding the Vietnamese national flag and creating a lively atmosphere. Among them, Nguyen Duy Minh stood out with his handsome appearance and bright smile. That young man cheered enthusiastically, no less than any fan who traveled all the way from his hometown.
The reporters' curiosity grew even more when the fans in the group teased Duy Minh that he was Thai, but could speak Vietnamese. What surprised the other people about Minh was his ability to speak Vietnamese fluently and clearly like a native, despite being born and raised in Thailand.

According to research, Minh's father is Thai and his mother is Vietnamese. "When I was young, I learned Vietnamese from my mother. About 3 years ago, I learned to write Vietnamese through online classes. In addition, I also practice pronunciation anytime, anywhere to speak clearly and sound like a Vietnamese person," Minh shared.

In addition, Duy Minh also acted as an interpreter (from Thai to Vietnamese) when reporters came to interview his father.
"Waiting since noon to see Vietnam compete"
To "fuel" coach Mai Duc Chung and his team, Duy Minh and his family had made a plan in advance. The family of four, including his father, mother, Minh and his younger sister, traveled about 100 km from the capital Bangkok to Chonburi. "My family arrived at 11 am, found something to eat around here and waited to watch the Vietnamese women's team compete," Minh excitedly said. Although the match took place in the evening (6:30 pm), arriving very early showed the excitement and intense love that this young man's family had for Huynh Nhu and his teammates.

Although living in Thailand, Minh's family always keeps up to date with sports news from Vietnam. Minh regularly follows the press and social networks to not miss the beat of Vietnamese sports. "Every time I hear about Vietnamese athletes competing in any sport in Thailand, if I have time, I will buy tickets to watch right away, otherwise I will watch on TV," Minh said.
When asked: "If Vietnam and Thailand meet in the final, who will you cheer for?", the 19-year-old boy affirmed: "Honestly, deep down I still support Vietnam."

Although the Vietnamese audience was not large, it created a lively atmosphere at Chonburi Stadium.

Ending the short conversation amidst the cheers of his relatives in Chonburi, Nguyen Duy Minh did not forget to say: "I hope more people will come to the stadium to watch, cheer for the Vietnamese team, and motivate the players to have a successful SEA Games."
