Among the youth movements, “Voluntary Blood Donation” is a highlight. With the message “Every drop of blood given, a life remains”, from 2022 to now, the city’s youth have voluntarily donated 69,671 units of blood, providing medical facilities for examination and treatment. Many individuals stand out in the movement, typically Lieutenant Truong Dinh Viet, an officer of the City Police Logistics Department, who has donated blood and platelets 50 times to save lives.
Not only donating blood, Da Nang youth are also the vanguard force when natural disasters occur. During the recent heavy rain and floods, the City Youth Union activated 93 youth shock troops to quickly support the reinforcement of houses, rescue, provide necessities, and evacuate people to safety.
In Xuan Phu commune, heavy rains caused two-thirds of the area to be flooded. The commune's Youth Union mobilized youths to divide into two groups: one group mobilized medicine, flashlights, and food; the other group used boats to sneak into isolated areas to supply people. The Xuan Phu commune Military Union supported rearranging furniture and bringing the elderly and children to safety.

In Duy Nghia commune, more than 1,000 union members, youth, cadres and soldiers urgently reinforced 500m of embankment in An Luong village that was eroded by floodwaters, protecting 500 households from the risk of serious landslides. In addition, union bases also organized the cooking of tens of thousands of meals, donated dozens of tons of necessities, clothes and warm blankets to support people in flood-affected areas, helping to alleviate some of their difficulties.
The youth volunteer movement in Da Nang is increasingly diverse and practical. Models such as “Residential area classifying plastic waste”, “Second journey of tires”, “Youth flower street”, “Mural route”, or “Exchanging trash for gifts” activities are widely deployed, contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection.
Over the past three years, the city's youth organized 10,056 volunteer activities, attracting more than 2.03 million union members and young people to participate. The city built 24 city-level youth projects and 9,489 grassroots projects, with a total value of over 43 billion VND.
Young intellectual teams were established to support people in transferring science and technology and applying digital technology; the model of “Community Digital Technology Team” has contributed to helping people access online public services more easily. The movements “Winter Volunteer”, “Spring Volunteer”, “March Border Month”… continue to create profound humanistic imprints.
Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the City Youth Union Nguyen Ba Duan shared: “Through volunteer activities, Da Nang youth have been joining hands to do a good job in social security, repaying gratitude and supporting the community. The results achieved show the maturity of the Youth Union and Association, and at the same time affirm that the youth volunteer movement is an environment for union members to experience, contribute and mature. In the coming time, the City Youth Union and the City Youth Union will continue to innovate and improve the quality of volunteer models associated with practical needs; at the same time, promptly commend and reward groups and individuals who have made many positive contributions to the community.”
