Female student posts offensive photos at Opera House, university speaks out

(Dan Tri) - Thang Long University has officially spoken out about the incident related to the offensive photo allegedly taken by a student of the school with the Hai Phong Opera House.

The photo was posted by an account named Kimberly Pham on three social media platforms simultaneously: Instagram, Thread, and Facebook.

Accordingly, this girl combined her portrait in sexy clothes with the panorama of Hai Phong Opera House. Notably, her portrait was enlarged and placed above, while the miniature theater was below. Standing out on the facade of the theater is a picture of President Ho Chi Minh .

The photo immediately sparked outrage online. Many people were upset, saying that the girl in the photo wanted to be famous at all costs.

After receiving critical comments, the girl deleted the photo and posted an apology, but this did not appease public anger.

Sharing on her personal page, Kimberly Pham affirmed that when she edited the photo, she only thought that she was standing in the most beautiful place in Hai Phong City, looking at the surrounding scenery, not thinking that there was a picture of Uncle Ho there. She expressed regret and hoped to be forgiven by the online community.

On her personal page, Kimberly Pham describes herself as a lingerie designer. Meanwhile, information circulating on social media claims that she is a student at Thang Long University.

However, recently, Thang Long University officially denied it on the school's fanpage.

“The individual mentioned was a student of the 29th course. However, the school issued a decision to expel this individual from October 1, 2024 due to exceeding the 8-year deadline for completing the training program.

Currently, this individual is no longer a student of Thang Long University and is not under the management or education of the school," the announcement said.

Thang Long University added that for many years, the school has deployed and disseminated a code of conduct for students in life in general and in cyberspace in particular right from the time of admission.

The school expects that, on the basis of the code of conduct, students will behave in a civilized manner, respect the law, and always be responsible for their actions and statements.
