On the afternoon of October 11 in Hanoi, the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Vietnam Institute for Educational and Cultural Development launched the Piano Talent Festival 2026 - National Piano Talent 2026 .

The organizers said that the season, with the theme "Spreading Emotions - Connecting Passions" , promises to bring many new experiences, both encouraging creativity and creating international integration opportunities for the young generation of artists.
In the past two years (last year and this year), the organizing committee has received nearly 2,000 applications each year. Many high-ranking candidates have had the opportunity to perform in a series of events organized by the Vietnam Institute for Educational and Cultural Development, and have been admitted to leading art schools such as the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Central University of Art Education or the Hanoi College of Art.
Sharing about the competition, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - Head of the Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Institute for Educational and Cultural Development - affirmed that the 2026 National Piano Talent Competition is not simply a music competition, but also a journey to honor the talent, passion and constant efforts of souls who love art.
"Through each season, we hope to become a bridge, connecting generations of young artists and spreading the humanistic values of music - a language without borders, which can touch the heart and nurture the soul of every human being," Mr. Tuan shared.
Entering the 2026 season, the competition has many new turning points. For the first time, the competition has received official support from the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), contributing to enhancing prestige and professional quality.
The age of the contestants is also expanded from 5 to 25 years old, divided into 15 tables with 3 categories: Freestyle, Classic and Artist.
In particular, the Organizing Committee has expanded international cooperation, when the best candidates will be selected to join the Vietnam Piano Team, participating in the final round of the PIARA International Piano Competition in Japan in July 2026.
In addition, all contestants participating in the final round will receive the PIARA international certificate recognized by the Japan Assessment Association, as a testament to their efforts and achievements.

The competition's jury includes many prestigious artists and teachers in the field of music. They all have many years of experience teaching and performing.
The final round and the awards gala are scheduled to take place on March 28 and 29, 2026 at the Concert Hall, Vietnam National Academy of Music.
