- With about 1 month left until Lunar New Year 2025, supermarkets, agents, and retail chains from urban to district areas have stocked up and displayed goods to serve people's shopping needs during the holiday. This year, Vietnamese branded goods continue to dominate the market with a variety of designs and products from popular to high-end.
With the proactiveness of functional sectors in implementing solutions to ensure supply and demand of goods during the peak period at the end of the year and the traditional Tet holiday, up to now, the market situation in the province has remained stable, with abundant goods and stable prices. In particular, this year, products serving Tet needs have been put on shelves early by supermarkets, distributors and retail channels to meet the consumer needs of the people, in which Vietnamese branded goods account for the majority.
Through actual surveys, currently, most supermarkets and agents have displayed products for Tet and launched shopping baskets with a variety of designs, priced from 300,000 VND to several million VND, meeting the consumption and gifting needs of customers. In particular, this year, supermarkets and agents have chosen very practical packaged products for Tet shopping baskets with many essential consumer products from fresh fruits, candies to pre-packaged foods... Typically, at supermarkets and large retail chains in the province such as Dong Tien supermarket, WinMart supermarket, WinMart+ chain stores, shopping baskets and Tet gift boxes are mostly essential goods and over 90% of the products in the shopping basket are domestically produced.
Mr. Dang Van Dung, Manager of WinMart+ system in Lang Son said: Since the beginning of December, WinMart+ convenience stores in Lang Son province have been selling a variety of products to serve the needs of Tet such as: cakes, jams, candies... At the same time, we also display Tet gift boxes from famous domestic brands such as: Kinh Do, Orion...; pre-packaged Tet gift sets with a variety of products, prices... Products serving the Tet market at WinMart+ are mainly Vietnamese goods (accounting for over 90%). In particular, to better serve the needs of consumers, we also provide additional gift basket packaging services upon request. Currently, the Tet market has begun to be bustling, the number of customers coming to shop at stores has increased by about 30% and the amount of goods consumed has also increased by about 40% compared to normal days.
Not only direct retail channels, distribution enterprises have quickly deployed to bring Tet goods to all agents in districts in the province. According to market demand analysis and realizing that Vietnamese goods are still the priority of the majority of consumers, this year enterprises continue to choose Vietnamese goods as the main choice to promote distribution. Such as Hoang Nguyen Trading Joint Stock Company, Thien Phu Trading and Construction Company Limited... have distributed goods to serve Tet needs to all agents and retail points in districts with 100% domestically produced products.
Ms. Le Thi Minh Trang, Director of Hoang Nguyen Trading Joint Stock Company, said: Currently, the company has imported about 4 billion VND worth of cakes, jams, and candies to serve the needs of the Lunar New Year with 100% domestically produced products. In particular, the company exclusively distributes a number of Vietnamese branded products in the Lang Son market from large companies such as Hai Ha Confectionery Joint Stock Company, Perfetti Van Melle Company Limited (Vietnam)... Up to now, the company has distributed goods to 2,500 stores and retail agents in 11/11 districts and cities in the province.
In fact, in recent years, Vietnamese branded products have been widely distributed and consumed in the market and are increasingly diverse and abundant, especially goods for Tet, thereby meeting all the needs of people from consumption to giving. Typically, on the occasion of Tet this year, large Vietnamese confectionery brands such as Kinh Do have launched impressive gift boxes with many price levels for customers to choose from such as: Phu Quy Sum Vay gift basket, Phu Quy Binh An, Phu Quy An Khang... Or the Huu Nghi confectionery brand has launched gift sets: Tet Loc Xuan - An Khang, Tet Loc Xuan - Phu Quy, Tet Loc Xuan - Thinh Vuong... with prices from 150,000 VND or more.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, Vinh Trai ward, Lang Son city said: In recent years, I have seen that Vietnamese branded products for Tet are very diverse in terms of design, type and price, making it easier for us to choose. Therefore, this year, my family does not choose imported products but prioritizes domestically produced cakes, candies... for consumption during Tet as well as packaging into gift baskets to give to relatives and friends.
Obviously, with the development of Vietnamese enterprises and the increasing consumer psychology of Vietnamese goods, the Tet market now has an absolute advantage with quality products with domestic brands. According to the assessment of the industry and trade sector, if daily consumer goods and domestically produced goods only account for about 80% of the market, then Tet products with Vietnamese brands account for over 90%.
It can be seen that, with the proactiveness of enterprises in preparing goods sources as well as business plans, the Tet goods market has begun to be bustling with diverse designs and suitable prices, thereby meeting people's shopping needs and contributing to continuing to effectively implement the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" during the "golden" time to stimulate consumption of goods.
